Canada is in final negotiations to order 88x F-35 as replacement for F-18.

IF it comes about then that is a massive change in policy.
For decades the Canadians have always insisted upon twin engines due to the long distances that they cover between bases.

Oh yes I had seen the news.
My point was that it is a massive change of fighter policy. Also this is where they were 10 years ago before they threw the whole thing out and started again.

I'm not arguing your point Steve merely providing a few more links covering the news.

I'm not sure they have many other options left open to them. Might have been a lot cheaper to have stuck with it back in the day...

Politicians eh? Canada does seem to suffer with order and cancelling of military equipment more than most.
