Nalayh or Nalaikh AFB Mongolia

Post by zzip »

Hi all,

I am currently working on a former Russian base in Mongolia.
This is "NALAYH or NALAIKH AFB".
I can't find an ICAO code anywhere, so I made one myself, namely ZMNA.
Does anyone here know more about this base?
This is not about ZMSF Sky Friends, which is 5 km away.

Hi Peter,
I know nothing, but I'm intrigued after viewing Google Earth. If you have not found these already...

Avsimrus has Nalaikh as ZMNA here for FS9:
http://www.avsimrus.com/f/ai-traffic-an ... 55615.html

This web site has a lot of Soviet info, but I don't see flying regiments mentioned there. It lists the 1282nd AA units & 203rd radio-technical in the vicinity:
https://www.ww2.dk/new/pvo/50ogkpvo.htm
https://www.ww2.dk/new/pvo/radar/203rtp.htm

Good luck,
Jim

Hi Jim,

thanks for your information.
I'll have to take some time to check this out.
I took a look at ZMNA (so this is the correct name) for FS9,
I didn't even know this existed.
Attached a picture of my ZMNA today.

Thanks again for the info,
Peter
