JYAI Westland Lynx

Post by John Young »

As promised in the Wessex topic, I have adapted the early Westland Lynx versions in that package to make some modern (at retirement) models.

If (when) you have my Wessex Part 2 package installed, you will already have the 10 blue Royal Navy Lynx HAS2s and 4 Marines AH1s. These helicopters are repeated in the new Lynx package, with the additional types following them in the aircraft.cfg file. You can safely overwrite the Lynx file from the Wessex package to give a composite single folder.

The new Lynx package, for FSX and P3D, adds the Royal Navy HMA8 and the Army AH7 in different configurations. Some serial number paints are included, but a paint kit will allow users to paint more.

The package contains AI aircraft only, for FSX and P3D. No scenery or flight plans are included:

I will upload the package and paint kit today, but like the Wessex, I have no idea when they will be processed and made available.

Looking good John. Thank you for these, they fill a hole in my retro 80s sim. Look forward to doing some repaints. Hopefully the library issues can be resolved soon.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

I am so pleased to say that Ray Parker has galloped to my need and is hosting the Lynx (and Wessex) files while the MAIW Hangar is not operating as it should. With many thanks to Ray, he has set up a page for these (JYAI) downloads on his web site here - see top menu:

Update: Ray's hosting has now been removed - see below for the link to the zip in the Download Hangar.

Thanks for these John. I finally retired the venerable UKMIL Lynx from Middle Wallop (Lynx Conversion Flight).

Update: The Lynx files have been available in the Download Hangar for a while now and the hosting on Ray's site has been removed. This is the link in the Hangar:
