Airport Design Editor is now at AVSIM for FSX. Appears to be just like AFCAD.

I like the satellite picture background for placing parking and objects.

Flightsim has it listed under FS2004 files. Who's going to be the brave one to test it?

AVSIM and Flighsim have it listed under FSX-Files. This is a utility only for FSX

Flightsim may have changed its listing because when I posted that, it was listed in the FS 2004 files.

for the record, it does only work with FSX. It won't even install with FS 2004.

IS there any way to put/combine a Sat picture (google earth) in afcad for FS2004 so you can make the airport more detailed and realalistic, then drawing the airport like you think it is??

Yes but not with Afcad. Purchase AFX from Flight1.com [ the new 'Afcad' by Konstantin Kokushkin] It will import Afcads and produce files for FS9 and FSX.

The most useful feature is the 'Import Background' [ Sat image] feature.

Not with the current version of afcad. As he says, AFX will do this, but so will several freely available scenery design programs. Creating your own textured polygons is relatively simple once you know how.

AFX would be easier to use, but it is payware.

The other programs, more difficult to learn/use, but are freeware.

Those are your options.
