Here is a link to the new MAIW Elemendorf AFB V2 Package:

Post all support related questions here.

Please note that this is an entirely new package for Elmendorf which also features custom scenery for Elmendorf AFB. If you installed the original version of this package, you need to watch for duplicate files. Any files with the same name will automatically be overwritten, however some files, like the PAED (Elmendorf) afcad have been updated and the file name has changed. In order to prevent duplication issues, you should remove the following files and folders before you run the new version in FS9.

If you haven't removed the old files first, before you boot up FS9 you should search your folders and file carefully for duplicate files which may cause the new package to work incorrectly.

Here is a complete list of files and folders that can all be deleted prior to installing the new version.

FS9/Addon Scenery/Scenery folder:
000_MAIW_PAED.BGL
MAIW_AF2_MAI0.bgl
MAIW_AF2_MAI2.bgl
MAIW_AF2_MAI3.bgl
MAIW_AF2_MAI4.bgl
MAIW_AF2_MAI5.bgl
MAIW_AF2_PAED_DEFAULT_DB_MG.bgl
MAIW_PAED_Exclude.BGL
MAIW_PAED_OB1.BGL
Maiw_paed_objects.bgl

FS9/Aircraft folder:
MAIW_C-12F_Elmendorf AFB folder
MAIW_NBAI_Boeing F15C Elmendorf AFB folder
MAIW_NBAI_Boeing F15D Elmendorf AFB folder
MAIW_NBAI_Boeing_F22 Elmendorf AFB folder
MAIW_NBAI_Boeing_F22_Raptor_Elmendorf AFB folder
MAIW_PAI_C17_RPP_Elmendorf AFB folder

FS9/Scenery/World/Scenery folder:
Traffic_MAIW_Elmendorf.bgl

FS9/Texture folder:
BAK_12.bmp
Ramp_lights_alpha.bmp

I'm sure those planes won't mind trading the snow fall and the ash fall for the clear, sunny skies of New Mexico. :wink:

No kidding, we had 14 AK 22's here right before the volcano erupted, and a week after they went back it erupted...the point of being here was to miss the volcano. I believe it erupted in the 90's as well. hope all is well there.

Typical isn't it, we spend so much time testing this and as soon as we release it a bug surfaces.
If you find that the C-17 paratroopers don't work then you will need to use slightly modded one attached here.

Please note this is for the MAIW_PAI_C17_RPP_Elmendorf AFB_Para folder ONLY

Can this type of information be put in the readme file so that it can be viewed before installation? It wasn't until I read the html file that is only available after installation that all these files need to be removed before installation.

Hi,

Tnx for again a wonderfull package.
I noticed that the F-22 where called experimental by ATC.
In the aircraft.cfg I noticed that the [General] part was missing.
It showed:

atc_type=SILENT
atc_model=F22
editable=1
performance=Model Designer : Nick Black\nFlight model : Michael MacIntyre\nAI USE ONLY

instead of:

[General]
atc_type=SILENT
atc_model=F22
editable=1
performance=Model Designer : Nick Black\nFlight model : Michael MacIntyre\nAI USE ONLY

Thank you for the wonderful package. In the readme file it says to remove

MAIW_AF2_MAI0.bgl

MAIW_AF2_MAI2.bgl

MAIW_AF2_MAI3.bgl

MAIW_AF2_MAI4.bgl

MAIW_AF2_MAI5.bgl

from the add-on scenery folder. However there are flightplans that use these waypoints. Are these waypoints any different from the ones used in version 1?

The instructions to remove the v1 package files are complete and are aimed at users that are not too sure what they are working with and should be carried out with impunity BEFORE upgrading.

However,if you have already installed the new package, it would not be ideal to remove them because as you so rightly spotted flightplans included in the package use them.

Hope this solves your dilema?

Nice job!
Just a small issue with the scenery: the F-22s in the hangars have their tails out of the buildings!

just noticed the 19th FS F-15's in the package have blue tail flash's, but they should be black.
still a great package tho :)

sure, this was taken shorty after puting them in storage from the volcano last week, but I believe they've had them for over a year now.
