Cheers guys, enjoy it :D Good to finally get it out of the hangar, it's been in development far too long. The timing worked out nicely too!
It would've been nice to have it done while there were still some in RAAF service, but oh well :| The camo wombats will be putting around in my sim for quite a while at any rate
I don't think it ever would have been finished if it weren't for Steve coming to the rescue with the FDE, once he was on the case I was free to stop pulling my hair out trying to get it to sit on the ground, and concentrate on finishing the model and pk.
With my FDE, it behaved suspiciously like a Dash-8.... On a pogo stick.

Thanks guys for a fine model.
There may not be many(any?) still flying but its a plus for us retro fans.

Chris

Another one for fans of the Vietnam era as well.
I personally am hoping that some Aussie fan does the entire fleet,as of a couple of months ago. It would definitely spice up my ADF AI installation.

Steve

Yeah a nice retro Vietnam package would be lovely....One day, when there are a few more models available.
Barry

Well done Drew, and hope to see that C17 one day :D

Can't wait to get this one!!! My retro FS is loosley dated around the mid-60's and we had a ton of these guys at Benning then. (Now if I only had a Huey...) :D

Nice work, Drew! I'll be running mine out of YWOL (HARS has been promised one in flying condition). The odd one will probably still run out of YBTL for me (I like 'em, even if they are retired!).

Almost inspires me to finish off the KC-30A...if only I had some time!

There is always time for a KC-30, Rob. :D

How's that for encouragement.

As of a couple months ago the RAAF moth balled them, not that they were getting used much in more recent years. They are still a fantastic aircraft for search and research and minor transport missions and will be sadly missed in outback Australia and abroad.

How about making some turboprops for it and creating the DHC-5 Buffalo?

Well you never know, but from what I know about Drew he is most interested by aircraft that serve in Australia. As he is from Oz I can't really fault him for that.
He has a project at the moment, but I have no idea what he is planning after that.

I've certainly considered it, but the Buffalo doesn't share as many parts with the 'bou as it would first appear. Looks to me that about the only thing exactly the same is the cockpit and nose section. The rest of the fuselage is wider, rear fuselage and cargo doors are totally different, and the tail, wings, flaps, engines, main gear, are all different. It'd have to be almost an entirely new model, and for now, I just can't be arsed. I have enough on my plate
But ya never know though, I may just get bored enough to see what I can do some day. Just because none operate in Australia is no guarantee, the AN-225 has never even been here after all. Plus, the Buffalo has a T-tail! :smt007
