Pablo Diaz has released his Version 2 of High Def Environment. I've installed it...love it. I was a little nervous at first thinking its too good to be free. Also includes a .dll for bloom effect. Didn't work so hot with my video card, but maybe someone else will have some luck.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually prefer his sky textures to those that I've seen from REX. Note that I haven't purchased REX so I can't truly compare the two but I am more than happy with these, and the price is right too!

This screenshot of a sunset environment, to me, is the closest thing I've seen (sky texture wise) to what a real sunset looks like.

Another I remember that is a bit more comprehensive is the "Real Environment Professional for Flight Simulator 2004"..totally free, and it has textures for ground, sky, water and a number of other enhancements. Quite nice as well

I use parts of both actually. I think I am using REP's airport grass textures. Here's a couple shots I took tonight with the V2 of the HDE clouds from Pablo Diaz.

I'm perfectly happy with these and the strangest part, with "3D clouds" checked on, I have NO, NONE, NOTHING, loss in FPS which I've never been able to say before. Strange but I'll take it.

Flares and chaff at the same time actually. The still image isn't nearly as cool as the in game effect itself. VRS Hornet.
