Hi Merlin,

The airport 2.x textures you can get from Flightsim.com's 'Must Have File' section.

Those may be trees. See if the read me calls for Gerrish trees or something like that. I can't remember the author's name.

Are the trees showing up, though? I had the same problem and my textures were in the wrong place.

OK Merlin, I have done some checking and found that the missing textures are indeed Nova textures. My guess is that you have them installed in FS9 but not one of the auto search texture directories.

I put the Amberley bgls in my MAIW_Test's Scenery folder and then booted up FS9, with a utility called Filemon watching FS9 for errors and highlighting MAIW_Test.
Like you I had the control tower and other buildings as white. Filemon showed that FS9 was searching two directories w/o finding them.

F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\MAIW_test\texture and F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\TEXTURE. To prove this case, I downloaded and copied the contents of all 4 archives to the MAIW_test texture folder and switched to another airfield, when I switched back the textures were fine.

Hopefully this should enable you to fix the problem, my guess is that you might have the textures in F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\texture but FS9 doesn't automatically search there.

so where should they be, FS/add on scenery/textures or FS/main texture file?
sorry bit confused on what you've written!!

The main texture folder is preferable for this reason.
You can put them in the texture folder of , for example, 'RAAF Amberley' and then make that known to FS9, but then you would have to have a copy of them in every texture folder for each scenery directory that uses them.

Hopefully, I am explaining the workings a bit better this time :) .

IF not, ignore all above and just put them in the main texture directory :D .

hmm, thats where i put them in the first place! Also i placed the 'tree bgl' in the main scenery folder as per instructions, is that correct place?

Ah now I had trouble with the trees for the addon Randolph scenery, eventually it transpired that the instructions assumed that FS9 would be the same as FS2002, but to be available to every scenery the Trees_0.bgl has to be placed in a different directory, on my system its:-
F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\BASE\Scenery and the textures in the F:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Texture directory.

I have absolutely no idea why, I found it whilst searching for a solution on the net, tried it and it bloomin' worked.

:( i've tried everything i can think of & still get white 'blocks'! NOVA textures are in main texture folder. Trees are in main texture folder, tree bgl is in scenery/base/scenery file. so any further ideas would be accepted!! Are the trees needed just from that one file or from another source? Everywhere else i fly is ok, just Amberly & Richmond has these problems!!

OK Merlin, lets try the really simple, space-eating stuff. Copy the Nova textures to the Amberley texture folder and see how that looks. Also, can you tell me how many Nova textures you have.

theres 49 textures in my NOVA folder. i just added them to Amberly textures & gona try them!
