Yes that is the problem, just have to convert your needed altitude in ft to meters and you should be all set.

Looks like I am doing something wrong guy`s. I have changed the altitude to metres (4600ft=1268m) but it still produces a massive crator & the strange thing is, no matter what altitude I put in, the bottom of the crater is always 1516.9 ft. Perhaps I am using the wrong bit of Sbuilder. I am doing the flatten in LWM, flatten, set altitude/color, then I put in the altitude, is this the correct way?

Cheers for any help

Dave check where your output flatten file is going to. Almost sounds like it is either not making the new file correctly or that it is and that file is not overwriting your older flatten or you are not putting the most up to date flatten file in your local scenery folder.

Mike, you have saved the day again. I found that I had mistakingly made a groom lake file when I first had a go at Sbuilder & neglected to name it properly, thus I found a file called project, & that was the old conflicting file.

Many thanks for helping

Better late than never, but thanks for the tutorial. As it turns out, I've been doing it wrong all this time! I would remove airport backgrounds by creating a poly that stretched over it.

And I never realised that Sbuilder could "communicate" with FS9. I've been doing the long way around, taking a top-down screenshot with CellGrid enabled, importing it into Sbuilder, checking the coordinates with Tcalc etc. etc.

Sorry to bump the thread - but I finally got to grips with the simple stuff. Thanks very much Mike - after going through the whole thing once (and having to restart twice due to that "undo" function) I managed to get the golf course alone onto Randolph without referring to the tute...... :D

Hello
I need help: I want to use custom textures (MAIW Ground Poly Tarmac/Concrete) for polys created by SBuilder. Can you explain me how to modify poly.txt,I found some tips on FSDeveloper. I tried to modify poly.txt but Scam (after bgl compile) still wrote me error message.
