Armée de l'Air KC-135FR Tankers

Post by MIKE JG »

Stand alone release of all 15 French KC-135FR Stratotankers

Note: These are the animated refueling versions of the model, the only difference is that they will fly slower in cruise to allow you to refuel behind it with a flyable aircraft.

Refueling animations are present when the model is between 20,000 and 24.000 feet while in level flight.

Oh, oh,

Magnifique !

I'm very happy for those birds, but sincerly, since KC-135R models by Kevin Reed, Mike MacIntyre and the MAIW developement team are developed. I had hope for a full maiw package for this AB. Istres Le Tubes is an older french AFB, Istres have the european must longer runway (5000 m), airbus us it for the 380 tests. Because of his equipment of safety and security and the length of the runway, the base served for several emergency landings of civil planes in trouble. Since 1999, it is besides one of the rare air bases except the territory of the United States outings and authorized for the landing of the space shuttle.

I know, the packages are free works from members, and i'm not request special works. But for all aviation fans that we are. I just want to explain what this base represent in Europe.
At the moment there is "escadron de chasse La Fayette developped with Mirage 2000N in maiw package, whe need, 5 PC 7 repaints for EPNER (École du Personnel Navigant d’Essais et de Réception) the flights plans for PC7 and french KC 135, and scenery for have a european master piece AB for flight.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Istres-Le_ ... 9_Air_Base

I don't know how make scenery and this is the reason of this message, the other reason, try to fly istres to aviano over the alps ..., really great fly.

These were destined for a package that Nick Black was working on but he's gotten pulled back into being a full time dad again and will not be able to complete the package as planned.

So if anyone wants to do an AFD file and flight plans for the community for these models, it would be very much appreciated.

I have not tested these ADE files with the new package, but they should be a good place to start.

Cheers

I was a bit dismayed to see that Istres-Le Tubé is one of those places that are apparently censored on most imagery (Google Earth & Bing Maps, but strangely enough not on here.com/Nokia Maps).

I've attached some simple plans to get them in the air and visiting numerous waypoints in the Med, Bay of Biscay/Atlantic Ocean, and the few inland ranges I could find. Low utility as I have no idea how much they fly in real life. My OCD demands that the 3 KC-135R's are noted as such in the aircraft title, so please pay attention to that when substituting for your own

It's a few tanker spots short, but otherwise it looks good. Spots 50-53 should be converted to tanker spots and there's a new apron nearby with a couple of spots as well.

Hello, thanks for the paints, a very welcome addition :D

I would be happy to receive you PC7 paints as well Jcapde. I will provide realisitic FP for them in a day or two (if I finaly managed to get my main computer working properly). they are based on real observation and I will add the Alphajet from the test center, with specific waypoints.

Many thanks again all!

Ok for textures in next hours
Two PC-7 are listed with EPNER from Istres-Le Tubé F-ZJAH (the blue one ) and F-ZJAI. The three others (AF, AG and AJ) are seems to be based in Cazaux used by DGAEV.

You're right about the PC7s, some are based in Cazaux and sometimes used by the Toulouse test detachment. About "AF", he's waiting in a hangar in Istres and didn't fly recently (saw him today). My flightplans reflect this, you'll see ;-)

See you ^^

PS: callsigns are:
- EPNER: Balzac
- Istres: Azur, CEV
- Cazaux: Tarpon, CEV
but I don't know how to create EVP files
