ACG Gutersloh
Re: ACG Gutersloh
Latest information about the real airfield:
The airfield has ceased the aircraft movements today, at 9.45 o'clock this morning. The final 3 Lynx left Gutersloh and an era ends after 58 years. We all had a tear in our eyes...

So what a great honour to us to restore this airfield to life - exactly this day!

Re: ACG Gutersloh
Awesome scenery!
One question, are the Harrier Hides included or will they be a separate scenery?
I have the older version.
Thanks!

Greetings!
The wait is finally over and was it worth it?....stupid question.... it's just the best yet from ACG....I may be a little biased as an ex Gut veteran but nobody can be disappointed by such quality freeware
Here's the but!....where's the Bratty wagen and the Flugie ......just joking (everything else is in place)!
Stunning work fellas...keep it up
Best Regards
Geoff
P.S. Sorry to hear good old Gut is to finally close...I think I can honestly say I had some of my best times there as a young, free, single, loony SAC RAF Mov.Cont. (Rtd)

Re: ACG Gutersloh
Hi Manschy,
"Give us a hint, mate"
Bratty wagen was just outside the main gate, a source of soaking up the excess Heine/Amstel mit's consumed in the NAAFI & the Flughafen, affectionatly known as the the "Flugie" was just past the railway level crossing.... I think....it was the scene of many a boozie Brit airman making an absolute fool of himself after too many Heine/Amstel mit's...I am going back to 1970/72, if it is still there please give my apologies to "mein host"
Best Regards
Geoff

Re: ACG Gutersloh
Hi Geoff, well, will do my very best. I will ask members of the Spotting Group ETUO - perhaps they can describe it well and maybe we will attach it in the RAF_Gutersloh_X version

Re: ACG Gutersloh
Thank's Manfred, unfortunately I don't fly FSX, but the FS9 version just brings back so many memories anyway
Now I have really got to get to grips with some F2A 19/92 Sqn & FR10 2/4 Sqn flight plans ...that will then be my era, except of course the HAS were not there in 1970/72...but I can live with that!
Best Regards
Geoff

Re: ACG Gutersloh
Nice scenery. I am not into retro at all, but luckily I have a couple modern AI that visit this base.
Re: ACG Gutersloh
I have a AI question about this scenery. I am not into the retro AI, is there any modern AI that I can look for/download/install that will bring some modern AI to this base? The only AI I have now going to ETUO now is a USAF C-12 (1900C) and a Cessna 550 ambulance flight.
PS: LOVE the custom ground textures for this scenery! Hope more future ACG scenery has this custom ground scenery!

Re: ACG Gutersloh
Hmmm - because of the Harrier GR7 Farewell in 1993 and the subsequently usage of the British Army, no jets were landing since these days. But the Chinooks and predominantly Westland Lynx AH-7 and AH-9 helicopters were stationed until the closure this October.
Sometimes, several bigger Aircrafts like the C-17 in 2003 or Boeing 757 visited the base - mostly to transport british troups.
But if you are a little familiar with editing flightplans, you can revive this airfield like your suggestions for sure. Usually each AI can land at the most FS airfields...
