ACG Gutersloh
Re: ACG Gutersloh
Okay, here some shots of the second Harrier Hides area near my hometown. Tried to better my skills regarding the ground textures by using different layer and DXT3....
Regards, Manfred.

Manfred,
I think a lot of members have missed your update.
Absolutely brilliant. I am looking forward to this addition to Gutersloh.

Re: ACG Gutersloh
Thank you, Chris. Yes, because it is a hobby, you unfortunately can work on it just if it is time enough.
At present, I have some few hours off so I can show progress especially from the second Hides area, EHNR. It is a real enjoyment to make turns from RAF Gutersloh to Senne, then to EHNR.
Here some few more shots now:
Eastern approach to the field area EHNR....
Western approach....
I spent some time to exchange the odd default shadow blocks of the gmax model box of the Harriers camonets... I used ground planes to imitate real camonet shadows on the ground now. That makes John Young's Harriers even more real like ever before...

Thank you, halcon501. You can visit with the spain version of the Harrier GR1, the "Matador" . They appeared several times at RAF Gutersloh in the 1980s...

Those last shots of the low clouds/mist rolling in really add to Cold War theme. Great looking hide sites and treeline.

Re: ACG Gutersloh
Curious, are these out yet for download? Did I miss the release? I know in February I asked, but since then I have not seen these yet. Are they available yet? They look great.

Hi Dan,
no, latest shots on this side are from the second Hides area. If release is close, you all will get informed in time...

Latest shots: Harrier approaches above spotter street and taxiing afterwards behind first grass in between the fields...

Re: ACG Gutersloh
Manfred, these shots must be posted in the Military Aviation Photography forum, not here.....

My sim doesn't look as good as those incredible pics. Virtually real so to speak.

Re: ACG Gutersloh
Chris, each PC with I-5 processor or comparible will handle this scenery quite well. With AI at 50 - 60% and all three airfields in sight (RAF Gutersloh, Harrier Hides Senne-Range, Harrier Hides EHNR) at same time, you will get a FPS by aprox 45 - 60 frames. And that's state of affairs, with no final LODs added and some more models to attach into smaller scenes as well...
Regards, Manfred.
Re: ACG Gutersloh
Okay, over 2 month of intermission, I am glad to inform you we started the BETA this week.
Added some latest shots.
I decided to give you some additional gimmicks, some days before manouvre shows the construction of the Hides: You can use this time for helicopter operations with Chinooks for troup or cargo support - or using Gazelles or Lynxs flying the chiefs for inspection
The main operation period now shows GSE and almost ready groundcrew. They are time tweaked, so you will have a lot of live by differently appearing crew members...
Finally, you'll get a scene with departing troups, also for helicopter support action...
Hang on...

Re: ACG Gutersloh
Very impressive work mate....cant wait for these one...just a question...have these screens taken in fs9?
Re: ACG Gutersloh
Thank you very much. Yes, all screens are taken from the FS9 development....
Regards, Manfred.
Re: ACG Gutersloh
While the BETA team is testing, I implemented my final little scene of the Hides - the Harrier Engine Replacement! Like often done in the fields the replacement will appear several times as well in the scenery...
Regards, Manfred.
