1990 era SAC Bases (Scenery)
1990 era SAC Bases (Scenery)
I am putting the finishing touches on part 1 of my SAC base collection. Part 1 consists of Loring AFB, Griffiss AFB, and Plattsburgh AFB.
Part 2 will consist of Blytheville/Eaker AFB, Wurtsmith AFB, and K.I. Sawyer AFB.
part 3 will consist of Castle AFB, I haven't decided if I will include Mather or not since they lost their bomber mission in early 1989.
Some bases are not included as these bases still exist today and/or already have existing scenery or are in known development.

Blytheville/Eaker AFB?
Not only will my military AI be happy, but that same airport saw lots of cargo ops fire up into the 1990's!

Re: 1990 era SAC Bases (Scenery)
John's Loring scenery is superb. I'm building a Chrome Dome package based on declassified SAC flightplans so these bases are a great to use. Mather AFB would be good to. I have a Turner AFB scenery converted from FSX to FS9 that looks OK in sim. I won't be including the actual scenery in the packages but will be including all the waypoints, AFCADs to use with the scenery and for the default FS9 bases. I'll put links to the scenery in the readme. Textures for the BUFFs used will be included. Flightplans are done.
Cheers

Re: 1990 era SAC Bases (Scenery)
Anybody having CTD problems with the Loring Scenery? When I click on the airport to visit it, I notice that there are no runway textures before I get the CTD. I moved the Loring Landclass file to the MAIW lanclass folder
Any suggestions?
Thanks in Advance

Re: 1990 era SAC Bases (Scenery)
Just a hypothetical question at this point, because I haven't done any research yet, but could some of these bases provide a home for some B-36s in an alternative retro mode. The B-36 is high ranking in the "most wanted AI" list at the Owl's Nest and it's long been on my list to make.

Re: 1990 era SAC Bases (Scenery)
Hi together! This article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convair_B- ... #Operators can answer a few questions. In a quick review I found only Loring AFB for B-36's / unknown version.
Also I would like to see the Peacemaker in both main version > with / without jet engines
For the time until an AI Peacemaker is ready for duty I use Ito Sans B-36 but found an issue > the sound of this airplane as AI is for big jets, no prop sound ..... > Could be a problem in creating a native AI version, maybe
So, I would say good luck with developing it later the next months.
Cheers, Arne
