I've decided not to make the export models because they are on the to do list of someone else here. I could make the "A" and the "B" models but they are so similar to the "C" and the "D" it's really not worth it at this stage. I'll see what the demand is for what I've done already before considering anything more.

So, with that in mind, I uploaded the F-15Cs, F-15D and F-15Es to Avsim this morning, including the paint kit:

The files are:

FS9:
JYAI_F-15s_FS9_1.zip

FSX:
JYAI_F-15s_FSX_1.zip

Many thanks for these John!
They will most certainly find homes all over and for a long time to come.
Day 1 release numbers are fun to watch, but think of how much pleasure will be given to a whole bunch of folk, down the track.
I still get a kick out of receiving a query years after a release...
And thank you for your considered comments about FS9: still the Real Deal.

What is the easiest way to replace the older Nick Black F-15's in the MAIW Lakenheath package with these new ones?

PS: The new planes look really nice!

You could change my aircraft name in my aircraft.cfg file to the same as the ones you want to replace, adding more entries as necessary. You would then remove the old aircraft from your Aircraft folder. That would keep the existing flight plans consistent. The problem is that you only have 6 Lakenheath specimen paints with my models. Had Ian released his Lakenheath scenery, which is what I designed the models for, I would have produced the 80 or so paints for all the aircraft based there, so that would at least give you a full set of Lakenheath paints consistent with my models.

All the other AI F-15 models out there will have different texture mapping and can’t be used with my models. You would have to use my paint kit to re-paint the textures for the units you want aircraft for.

It’s a lot of work to provide a complete alternative to the F-15s already available and I concluded the interest just wasn’t there to justify the work. My F-15s were therefore released “as is” for people to use as best they can. I’m hopeful though that our painters here will turn their hands to these models in due course. That would certainly add more value.

Oh ok, I downloaded the new model but I did not open the zip file. I did not know there was only 6 paints. I thought it was all of them.

I will wait until there is a complete set of paints before I install them.

Yes I do have the sound pack for the F-15s Trev, but I have a technical issue with it, so I haven't uploaded it. As you probably know, and with much sadness, the author is no longer with us. I will flag the problem to MSS, but I really don't want to impose on them because of that sensitivity.

Sorry John,
I had forgotten about your question on your last email.....

My ones are FS9....
Export models -
K, J, DJ and SG are available from packages here.
Also to compliment Johns E's there should be around another 15 with differing load outs based on the F-15E.info site.

Aggressors, SE, and the two NASA ones are available from http://marksfsrepaints.jimdo.com/wsai-models/

Currently updating the J and DJ with the latest weapons.
Also have some Saudi ones to get out.

Only major one I haven't covered yet (although I have a test model, is the I)

Will get permission from one of our guys who contributed a few layers to the paintkit and get that out also.

No problem Kev, it's your lead on new F-15s, at least for FS9. If it wasn't for the aborted FSX Lakenheath scenery, I wouldn't have built the FSX ones and consequently the FS9 spin-offs.

I've produced these two models for someone who wants to do a retro" BT" set of As and B. These models have a single fuel tank, single Sidewinder and conventional crew helmets. I've used a 32nd TFS Soesterberg paint scheme (Wolfhounds) for fun, pending the "BT" paints:

I won't upload the new models to Avsim just at the moment, but if anyone wants them in the meantime, just drop me a PM. There are separate FS9 and FSX models.

Hi John, The first batch of F-15A/B of 32nd TFS (Soesterberg) between 1978 and 1980 had a RED fintip at the top of the tail. After receiving the first F-15C/D they changed to a ORANGE fintip (like the way you painted them).

Thanks for that gvbeek. My scheme was only temporary. The person who's doing the re-painting is producing a full set of CR, BT and SP paints. I just wanted to flag the new models in case anyone was thinking of painting the same subjects.

As john said, I am working on a set of retro USAFE paints & some simple flight plans. The screenshots below are still with the standard C/D models, when I will release the paints they will use John's awesome new A/B models.

Any idea when they changed from the light gray scheme to the darker gray used today?

I've always wondered that.

I'm speechless! John, Sir, those are amazing... they are better than many "flyable" models!

Thank you for releasing these, they may well be your best work!
