Nice! The Intruder served well and will be great for my retro setups. Can't wait!

The last of the Intruders went to the desert in '97. The airframe still lives on (slightly stretched a bit) in the last remaining Prowlers.

In USMC service they will soldier on a few more years. The USN is just about out of the Prowler biz as they shutdown EA-6B pipelines at the fleet training squadron, VAQ-129 and concentrate on EA-18G students. The limited future Prowler crews will train with VMAQ-1 (now VMAQT-1) at MCAS Cherry Point, NC.

Both models are welcomed to the now popular retro theme. A cool part of my USN career was having VA-75 in my air wing as they prepared to send the Intruder off right from our 96' Med cruise. One jet was painted "retro" to when the squadron 1st got the A6 and put her in action over SEA.

A-6s are gone but the prowler is still around for now. The Navy at the moment only has a few units left flying them, i think only Five. But the marines are looking to keep the prowler around for good bit of time with them just standing up their own training unit called VMAQT-1 formally VMAQ-1 the banshees. They will still operate the three other units(VMAQ-2, 3, 4). They are getting a bunch of prowlers from the Navy to add to their fleet of prowlers so expect the prowler to be around for many many years to come.

I will be definitely looking forward to the more colorful earl versions that took to the skies in the 70's

Actually there are less now then i had thought. There are only about 3 fleet units left( VAQ-131, 142, 134), and i am not to sure what the rag unit(VAQ-129) is doing now with theirs since the Marines have their own training unit.

Hello, are those pics of an AI Prowler? I don't seem to find any available, so I have been using models that came with Abacus Flight Deck 4,5, and 6 as AI.

Hello and thanks for the kind words. :D I will be glad to share when they are ready for release. The EA-6B is very close and the A-6 is not far behind. Main issues are textures and maybe tuning up the FDE. I'm working on some other projects now but if a painter wants to volunteer to take these over, I'll be glad to talk to them. :)
