Hello.. Mike.

Is there a helmet glass left in the picture and is the mask still in motion?

Thank you again for the great work.

Hi Mike,

I use 1280x1024x32 in the sim.

My screen resolution is 1280x1024 (recommended).
Thanks,

Walter

I found the fault why I not getting the F-16 show up.
My AI Traffic slider in the FS2004 settings was set to 40%. Put it up to 100% and all F-16 are there.
Looks impressive.
Thanks for the great work.

MIKE JG wrote:Jim that sounds very strange. At that distance there should be no change in LOD's. If your view is stationary, there should be no change in LODs either. LOD change is based on sight distance so should only change when you zoom in or zoom out.

Do you have any images to show us what you're seeing?

Misjudgement on my part at the range. It was happening at 180ft, and there was a tiny bit of movement on my part
(bloody joystick calibration!!)

The picture shows the different views at 180ft nearest to the camera obviously
500ft - 800ft - 1100ft and 2100ft.

What was happening at the 180ish ft point was it seemed to be cycling through 3 lods.

Thanks Mins, those are easy enough to fix. My issue is that I work off such a small screen on my laptop, I can't see a lot of these things you guys are seeing.

Jim, thank you as well. I think we'll ease off on the LOD change distance on the next release and see if that helps.

As much as we'd like the models to be perfect right out of the box, we'd rather find these things out now before we get really going than to have to go back and fix way more models in the future.

The Bk 50 and 52 will be the base models for everything after so if we can get these right, then we can go full speed on the rest.

Enjoy the package for now and we'll get to work on some changes and fixes.

Hi Mike.
I'm having the same kind of flickering and changes in shape at short distance like Jim and Walter.

Thanks Miguel, we are working on some changes for the next round of releases to see how those go. If those are received well, we will apply them to this group of models as well.

Hi Mike

Have had a play with the Block 52 vipers and they look great. I also went back to the Misawa birds but moved them to my test Airfield and compared the 2 next to each other. This time I could not re-create the flickering on the Block 50 birds. I went back to Misawa and lested some more and only got flickering once. Not sure what is causing the flickering but it might not be the Aircraft but the scenery. There is no scenery at my test Airfield.

Thanks Pete, it could very well be the scenery. Too many variables sometimes!

Mike

What I did notice in the block 50 release, the LOD transition was visible. I even saw the LOD25 clearly when it should have been barely visible.

The LOD transition in the block 52's is hard to detect. Great job

Keeping the detail on the shape at LOD25 is a great positive. Great work.

Agree with John, the LOD transition is much better with the Block 52 birds. Looking forward to many more releases in 2017. We may be able to give the HTAI F16 an honorable retirement after many years sterling service. :D

I just noticed that the D models in this package have light files named WSMG_F16C_GE_L.bmp. Shouldn't they be named WSMG_F16D_GE_L.bmp like the new SC ANG ones are? If so can I just rename the files?

Yes, good catch Joseph, also yes just change the "C" to a "D" in the file name and you're good to go.

I will make sure to fix that in the re-release.

Thanks for the feedback on the models. I have started the process to make the same changes to the block 50's. We'll get that done and get the models and package re-released and get going on this massive project.

And yes, the QF-16 is on the list of models to do......
