I need to apologize.

I mistakenly credited the flight plans for this package to the wrong author.

The flight plans were created by Menno van den Boogaard (Fokket50).

He has graciously allowed their use for this package and all credit for those plans goes to him.

Anybody know if the E-2 Hawkeyes are around. I think I read on this forum that the model was being worked on some time ago.

There is no true E-2 Hawkeye AI model that I'm aware of, there are some flyable models that work ok for AI purposes.

There is trhe ED Aviation (EDAI).

You can find it here : http://www.edaviation.com/avions_ai.html

This is not a real AI one, but low in Poly. A real E-2 is in preparation I think.

Two ways you could go here:

There is a pretty good FSX scenery for Misawa AB, made by a guy named Sam Sanders. He also did one for Signonella AB that was pretty good also.

http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php ... d=52102447

You would have to go through the AFCAD and add the parking codes however.

The other way is simply to use the AFCAD that is provided and covert it to FSX/P3D. Shouldn't be a big issue now that the objects libs have been converted (unless there are some custom objects in this new release).

This package is now updated to V2.

"Version 2 of this complete package makes several fixes to the custom scenery including newly added scenery and full seasonal textures. In addition, the F-16 AI models have also been updated and include new textures for each aircraft. Users who installed the original version of the Misawa Air Base package should fully remove any components associated with the original version and install version 2."

List of changes:
1) All aircraft textures have been updated to include the serial numbers on the sides of the nose in front of the cockpit
2) Original non-compressed aircraft textures have been included for users who wish to use a different texture format (ie FSX/P3D users)
3) Multiple fixes to the RJSM AFD file to correct errors
4) Addition of a third RJSM AFD file for the area around the elephant cage
5) Scenery models given seasonal textures where appropriate, no more green grass roofs in the middle of winter
6) "Elephant Cage" scenery area added with communication domes
7) Land and shoreline enhancements to the area next to the elephant cage to match real world (thank you Brent Newman!))
8 ) AI model LODs updated to make the transitions smoother
9) AI model texture mapping updated for more detail on weapons racks, etc.

I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting.

It appears that the models have reference to PW as well as GE texture calls. Using the AI Aircraft Editor I get the following from the model viewer:

There are loads of models out there that have this issue where names of texture sheets have changed from version to version or indeed through the lifetime of a project.

The vast majority of the them are of no consequence. I did find such a thing in a test model and told the modeller who then checked the code and couldn't find anything so our thinking was that although it had been removed/altered the mdl keeps track of it somewhere.

What I would say here is do you see anything unpainted? If not and you are still worried about it use the single transparent bmp trick.

I am sure that the modellers will double-check but unless there is a visual issue then the chances are all the models will not get recompiled.

Agreed, the single pixel file trick is how was I going to handle it. Just wanted to mention it here in case it was helpful going forward for the other models they have planned.

Once again, great stuff with these models.

Not sure if this occurred on version 1 of the scenery but there's a parking spot bang in the middle of the runway in the latest version.
