Thanks guys for the great feedback.

I've asked Greg if he can amend the aircraft.cfg files in the zips with the change needed to [fltsim.10] to make it visible (see Giorgio's post). Sorry about that.

Mike, thanks for the information on the drogues. I had thought about telescoping the hose sections but discarded the idea because of the polygon count needed (+264) but more importantly the 8 extra draw calls (16 if the left and right hoses need to be drawn separately). I guess these would be needed right down to around the 4th or 5th LOD. I think I would prefer flashing them on and off when triggered at altitude. As you say, users probably wouldn't see that happen and it would reduce the draw calls down to 1.

Both zip files were reuploaded with Giorgio's fix for the aircraft.cfg files. If you downloaded the package after this post's time stamp, then you're good. If not, then you can either apply Giorgio's simple fix or redownload the package and extract the aircraft.cfg file to replace the one you already have.

Just one question, if I want to view a a/c with boom down, any particular a/c to follow? I've downloaded the package but yet to install as at work right now!!

Dave, all of the tankers (KC--46A, KC-767A and KC-767J) will have their boom down between 17000 and 23000 ft.

I had an A-10 pilot once tell me that they had two throttle positions, Full and idle. He said there wasn't much need for anything in between. I read an article recently where an F-14 pilot told a story about providing CAS over Afghanistan during the early days of OEF. Heavily loaded D model Tomcats had to refuel with one engine in afterburner the whole time to compensate for the weight of the weapons load and the increasing weight from the fuel as it was taken on board. Similar to that, Mike.
In the Falklands the only thing the early FGR2 guys had to use was a Hercules C.1K.
They had to fly so slowly behind the Herk that it needed one engine in burner to maintain the high AoA. The Herk meanwhile was flying balls to the wall.
As any of the pilots will tell you - the fuel transfer rate was only marginally better than the fuel use rate.

Colombia Air Force have a KC-767-2J6ER/MMTT Jupiter in service.

This aircraft is modified i Israel by IAI.

This aircraft use only wings pods for refuling, and don't have the refueling boom.

John, do you think is it possible to realise this model ?

Not at the moment I'm afraid - not just for one aircraft. If I were to make it at a later date, what scenery would it go in?

It's not as simple as that I'm afraid. The boom needs to be removed from 5 LODs x 2 models (FS9 and FSX) = 10 changes. Plus the repaint in 2 formats, plus the aircraft.cfg changes, plus the flight plan, plus the flight plan conversion, plus the manual update, plus the testing x 2, plus the upload time x 2. We don't know what scenery is available to accommodate the aircraft and what changes are needed there.

It really isn't time well spent for a single aircraft for an Air Force that is probably not of main stream interest. Sorry about that.

Anyone remember this package? Since the KC-46s are being delivered to the USAF, I think I might as well start painting them. I made the 4 Pegasus' flown by the 344th ARS stationed at McConnell AFB. The 22nd ARW has a lot more that are active, but not assigned to a specific squadron.

Nice paints. I think the 157th Air Refueling Wing based at Pease is flying the KC-46 also.

Don't get me wrong and I appreciate what you have done but I think the planes are too dark.

Pete, they moved many of those to Fairchild AFB in Spokane WA. Also the unit at Seymour Johnson is getting ready for -46s if they ever get fixed.

Chris, thanks for the information. For now I will leave as-is in the hope that the roll-out of paints keeps up with the deliveries by Boeing !

Mind-you there is a worry in many forums that Boeing could go under after the Max debacle and Covid chopping the floor out of the Airline business.

Boeing will not go bust. It will not be allowed to. It holds many military contracts (remember, it is not just an aircraft builder), and it's the USA's only indigenous airliner builder. The US Govt will support it no matter what.
