Post by raclim »

Hello guys,

Quick question, did someone ever do a RAAF repaint for the MKAI C-27J model?

Cheers,

It maybe that nobody who paints has the regs, callsign and sqn information.
If you have such info then if we get a sighting of a Lesser Spotted Painter then you never know your luck. However, they are a rare breed especially in in the winter time.

Currently working on building a traffic file for them to visit various airports around Australia. Primarily will be basing them out of RAAF Richmond (their current home) and RAAF Amberley (future home).

If anyone has some places they would like to see these show up please let me know, and if anyone would like to volunteer to test them out (repaint and traffic files) let me know.

I never seen the light grey paint scheme. Are you sure about its existence?

Seems to be standard colour - not grey;

The light grey scheme was the original proposed one from a temporary scheme on an Alenia aircraft at Avalon Airshow in 2005 and on the RAAF website ( https://www.airforce.gov.au/Technology/ ... nuL3bxuN6b ) though not seen on any of the 5 aircraft so far delivered. Happy to switch them all to the standard Dark/Light Grey scheme.

Hi Novawing24
I am very appreciative for the Australian C-27 package. I can't decompose the flightplans with Traffic Tools, so are they meant to be used in FS2004?

Looking at the contents of the .zip file I would suggest that this is set up for FSX only. Although you can always convert the traffic file to FS9 format with AIFP. The aircraft textures would also need to be converted to DXT3 from DDS

My first impressions is that they are not bad.

I only have some relatively small observations. Firstly, the quality of the lettering on the schemes is quite poor. This may have something to do with the conversion of DXT5 to DXT3 for them to show up in FS9. Hopefully you do all your work in the 24bit/32bit paint kit and then once you save the individual aircraft you then convert to DXT3/5. If not try that.

Secondly, I believe that the fin aerials are dark grey not light grey.

Thirdly, all of the aircraft also have the last 3 of the serial number on each side of the nose in black. Any pic will show you what I mean.

Hope this makes sense.

Oh one last thing. They are assigned to 35 Sqn not 38.
