B-36s and associated scenery are all done and sent for inclusion in the Download Hangar.

The files are: JYAI_B-36_FS9_1 and JYAI_B-36_FSX_1.zip.

The paint kit is: JYAI_B-36_Paint Kit.zip

Thanks to Brent for his contribution of Carswell AFB and to John Stinstrom, in his absence, for producing his original Loring AFB retro scenery.

Thanks!
Awesome job, for an extraordinary aircraft, John. Also a big thanks to Brent for Carswell.
May be , a little adjustment to the lights of the wings is needed.

Dear John – thank you so much!

This is plainly unbelievable. After all these years of teasing you finally gave in and made this beauty, while I am down with flue and having no clue for days…

Even better: I gave up insisting on a dual boot configuration with Office/Development and FS immediately before I got sick. There is a brand new, dedicated FS computer waiting at home, having a virgin P3D/OrbX installation. I have not yet started P3D into flight mode.

Guess what the first thing will be this evening that I let fly on this box?

Thanks again – I really appreciate that.

And Sean…. I did NOT push the votes  :smt001
Cheers,
Martin

You are most welcome Martin and I hope you are feeling better soon. The B-36 was always on my list to do, but I kept putting it off because it was always a risk. I wouldn't know if it would be successful until it was half done. As it happened I made a basic test model first to see if a single sheet airframe texture would work for such a huge aircraft and kept my fingers crossed for the polygon count.

Have fun with it.

What a stunning and majestic aircraft, John! Worth of every day I have waited for it. I have no screen shots yet, but it flies perfectly in P3D. Thanks again.

I have an issue with the airports - maybe someone can help. I installed the two accompanying airports Loring and Carson plus Lakenheath. Although all three are loaded and activated - I can tell from the parked B-36s - nothing except the runway is visible. Nothing means no taxiways, no scenery objects, no airport background, no nothing.

Was there a break of compatibility with the latest P3D Version that I am not aware of? Or did I mess up something?
Cheers,
Martin

I was far too excited with my new computer and the Johns Peacemaker yesterday evening. FTX was sitting on top of the library. All perfect now.
Cheers,
Martin

FSX B-36 nest!

I am using FSX! I installed the package. Unfortunately the TAXI road is full of trees, buildings!

Any idea?

Which airfield is that and did you follow the instructions on pages 6 and 8 of the manual for installing the FSX scenery for the aircraft?

You did install the FSX version, not the FS9 one?

You should have 6 files in the scenery folder. KNFW_ADEX_JY_CVX.bgl is the file that removes the default objects, including the trees.

I've just re-checked my installation and I have no trees on the taxiways. There are some trees that surround some areas of concrete but they are meant to be there.

If all the required files are present and the problem is still there, please post a screen shot and I'll try and locate the trees.

OK found the problem. I was looking at the Carswell Circa 1953 scenery (for the B-36s) the subject of the thread. That has no trees on the taxiway. However, Carswell Circa 1962, which is for the Hustlers, does. I think I must have used the same exclude file, but in fact the latter scenery has a runway extension that just misses the exclude.

I'm knee deep in F-35s at the moment and I really don't want to break my concentration with tree removal, but I'll get around to it when I reach a natural break.
