100% OOHHHHH

I doubt I'll be able to see the sky through all the AI flying about but I'll give it ago.

I have the same problem as "Redtail" in FSX.
Scenery installed in the library and activated. Old version de-activated. I have not added the new sim objects or traffic file.

EGWZ is not available to select from free flight. I launched a flight from nearby Wyton and made the short hop to Alconbury. The scenery is there (and looks splendid). My old AI (RF-4s and F-5Es) seem to be operating fine. Oddly, looking in map view the Alconbury DME is visible but the airfield itself is not shown.

Any ideas?

I have no problem finding Alconbury (not RAF Alconbury), either with the airfield name or EGWZ:

Is it possible you have a duplicate AFCAD somewhere causing confusion?

Hi John.
Looks like the country is England rather than United Kingdom. I expect that is something to do with it (though can’t see how that would cause a problem with map view). Will take a look tomorrow.

Excellent! Traffic set to 100%! I now have a fully functioning Alconbury with A-10's galore! Thank you so much Ian for making this scenery FSX compatible and John for your amazing A-10!

Your continuing developments amaze me every time!

It sounds like the afcad might have accidentally been created with the EGWU as the Airport ID. Load it up in either AFX or ADE and have a look at the airport properties and see.

Hi Everybobdy

At first Happy New Year and Thanks to Ian and John for this beautiful scenery.
At the moment I have a problem.
When I'm ready to take off I just have a green runway; when I fly over the base I see a beautiful runway but it disappears again when I'm landing.

I have FSX SP2.

Can anyone help me to have a normal runway?

Thank you and Greetings from Switzerland

First of all happy New Year to all at MAIW and its readers! Still unable to select Alconbury in the free flight list.Putting in EGWZ as John's window above shows does not have Alconbury listed .As JBD said fly from a near by airfield and do a fly over and Alconbury is all there. I have also landed and had a taxi around. So all is well except for the fact I am unable to select it to fly from.
Steve, a check in ADE in the airport properties shows it as it should. So no changed ID.
Perhaps this will be another FSX gremlin! A search for duplicate AFCAD's has thrown up nothing.

Happy New Year all.

Redtail, I had the same problem finding Alconbury within the free flight menu. It is not listed under the United Kingdom airfields but separately under England. Scroll up the country list until you see "England" and click on that. Alconbury then appears.

I still have one problem however; I can't see any TR1s. All the A10s appear but nary a single TR1.

Have read through all the manuals and don't think I have missed anything but would welcome advice on how to get the TR1 models to appear.

Many thanks to all involved in putting this excellent package together.

Well done lauriebe01 you are right it does appear as normal under England. Why didn't I think of that.I have been trying various things
with files folders etc. but not looking under England!!!£££$$$%%%
I can confirm that I do not see the TR1's either.Could it be a parking slot wing span issue? I will try to see if that is the case.
JBD above was having the same issue.I don't know if he has read your solution?

I can see the TR-1As. They are in or outside the wide shelters on the north side of the airfield.

That is easily fixed load up the afcad file in ADE or AFX. Go to the Airport Properties section and alter the Country from 'England' to 'United Kingdom' then you won't lose it again.

Hi Everibody,
small update related to my last post: all it's working fine now!
I' ve found two EGWZ files from an old scenery somewhere lost in the Addon scenery/scenery folder that caused the problems with the runway.

All the planes are here and working.

Again Thanks to all the people involved in this amazing scenery !

John, I have tested several different flight times from the AI flight planner and I haven't been able to see one TR-1.If I go to the in flight drop down AI menu all your A-10 are shown but no Tr-i's.I also use plan G whilst flying and as you may know, that will list all
AI aircraft that should be seen. However no TR-1 are shown at Alconbury or in flight elsewhere.
I have done the usual checks for aircraft not showing up, but all appears as it should. As I have said all your A-10's show as they should. Strange!

3 TR-1A's in view in this P3Dv4 screen shot at 10:03:2017 GMT (same in FSX):

Traffic file in use:Traffic_RAF_Alconbury_FSX.bgl. Traffic percentage:100%

Do you also have rogue AFCADs somewhere?

John,
Schoolboy error i'm afraid.I checked everything AFCAD's FS9 traffic files etc but not the second traffic slider in the settings menu.
I have the first at 100% but not the second$$%%@@
Thanks for getting me there at last. Everything looks as expected fantastic,so thanks again to you and Ian for this release.

I've just amended the AFX file to show under United Kingdom. Typing EGWZ always brought Alconbury up straight away on my system to be fair.

Hælvette, now I finally have planes everywhere at Alconbury. Was about to Alco (n) Bury myself after a few beers, then realized I use 15% for max AI traffic on my sliders, usually setting 1-15% for Civil, and 1-10% for military. Thank you for another great package.

Firebird, JY, Redtail, many thanks.

Second slider set to 100%, was 40%, and TR1s appear where they should.

Excellent!

Thanks Ian for the amended AFX file.I had already changed it myself. It does seem odd that mine and others
could not get it to show by doing a code only show! FSX is a very fickle beast.
