Nellis AFB January 27th 2018
Red Flag 18-1
At 10:45 local RAAF 6 Sqn EA-18G Growler aborted takeoff and off the side of the runway following engine fire crew climbing out rather than ejecting.
No serial number yet or how severe fire damage to aircraft is.

Don't think this will buff out looks like a write off. Unconfirmed report aircraft is A46-311

Had this been a F-35...........the haters would be in full force. My buddy was working this incident and took some pics. I'll post them when it gets approved.

Agree, while looking at the abort procedure in NATOPS (flight manual), there is warning about any damage to the engine bay could test the integrity of the airframe. Above all the guys are ok, hope the pods are just covered by soot and not damaged, they're pretty $$$.
