Post by VulcanDriver »

Hi Folks has anyone got a fix for the JF AI helicopter doing this. I'm using FS9.

TIA

When I load the airport where it is based. The other strange thing is that the apron I've added isn't showing up.

It does sound like a height discrepancy and that can cause bouncy aircraft.

My simple guess is that the contact points are lower than the actual height above ground for the aircraft and it is trying to justify the difference. I seem to remember a post a few months back about AI B-52Gs doing this and would bounce all over the place.

Yep still lies on its side. This time at Culdrose. Something seriously wrong with this model.

John,

Try comparing the following values from my AI helicopters with the values in the JF aircraft.cfg file:

reference_datum_position = 0.0, 0, 0.0
empty_weight_CG_position = 2.8, 0, 0.0

;Moments of Inertia
empty_weight_pitch_MOI = 45000
empty_weight_roll_MOI = 45000
empty_weight_yaw_MOI = 40000
empty_weight_coupled_MOI= 0.0

Try mine and see if it stabilises.

I've seen similar with various AI aircraft, traced it to a corrupt aircraft.cfg ie the non [fltsim.x] part was incomplete...

Was that question for me Steve? The parameters are from the Lakota and Blackhawk files.

Hi Guys

Tranquil sent me his aircraft.cfg file when compared to mine it was larger. I used his and now everything is fine. I think mine got corrupted somehow.

Thanks for all the help.

It's the EC-135 using then new compact storage option. If you flip them on their sides, you can part three in the space of one normal.
