Is that the one done in the Tutor pack rather than the one done by Brian for JY's Argosy?

I will check out the scenery provided in that pack to see what I get.

It's not the main runway at Bardufoss.
It's a runway created on a taxiway for a little deployed scenario, length of 500ft.

Ahhh right.
In which case I know what you mean and the answer is actually in the comments of the fde.

I learned during my messing around for the F-35 that aircraft fdes behave differently for small runways. This is why we said suggested that you don't do SRVL landings on main runways. Basically on long runways the throttle cuts and the AoA goes up, no matter what you do.
In tests the F-35 was landing with 5.5 degs on Carrier type runways and 11.5 degs on a normal runway.

To cure your problem I think building a helo runway will do that.

I am hoping that the removal of those extra lines fixed the problem for the guy that contacted Miljan.

Changed Benson to a 1000ft runway, worked perfectly :)

I too am still having this problem (FSX) and it happens at any airport, i have Miljans other Puma models and they are all fine, no bouncing or disappearing on landing, the HC2 seems to land on its back wheels whereas the other pumas seem to be straight when landing..

Much thanks

Mark

This model or any other Puma/Super Puma/Cougar /Caracal are made and tested for FS9 only. I never made them for or test them in FSX.
So I cannot really give support for this platform.

Mark,
As it says in the comments the fde works on short runways. If you are using a full length runway it will land slower and with a more pronounces AoA and that is the problem.
When I looked at the fde the gear compression is already the softest of all the models so you can't really dampen it much more w/o having a knock on effect.

To fix your issue it would probably take a major overhaul of the fde. Whether Mike is willing to do is something only he can say.

In effect the best solution is to use short runways instead of the main runways.

As far as I know all Puma have exactly the same FDE and personally I never have had an issue of any of the model flipping even on the long runways. I have tested it in last 2 days on short and long runways and with VFR and IFR flightplan.

I don't think that they flip, Miljan, what it is that people are talking about is that on a long runway the main gear hits first and then due to the big nose up atitude when the nose gear hits the ground the main gear bounces off the ground and then it hits and bounces the nose gear off again and then it settles.

I didn't think i had the problem until I focused in on exactly what Jim was saying and then I saw what he meant.

Steve ,
This is the pic I got. I never saw such a behaviour in my simulator.

Cheers

Nope me neither. Was from the guy that reported the original problem?

If so, and after deleting those extra lines at the bottom, and he is still getting the issue then I would suggest that he re-install the package.
Either something has got corrupted, he has amended something in the config files, or he decided to merge the SA330 model into a folder containing the fde of a different version.

So I would say to him to remove his current installation and try it again in a fresh folder install exactly as it is in the package. Then delete those lines and see what happens.

I have tested about 2 dozen landings yesterday and today and all i saw was the same issue that Jim and Mark reported. Something is wrong at his end.

Steve, i sent Miljan the picture! as Miljan suggested i copied the text from his Cougar CFG and also the .air file (renamed it appropriately) into the HC2 Folder and this looks to have ceased the issue i was having! i have only tested at Benson so far, but i hope it has stopped the problem!

Much thanks

You were getting that problem? Have you always had it?

So you copied from the cfg and air file from the AS532 and it stopped your particular problem, or it stopped the one that Jim and I saw as well?

The only difference between the 2 is the contact points and they shouldn't be interchangeable. Can you double check the gear in all phases please. Especially the parked mode.

It maybe that it fixed your problem but you might need some tweaking.

Yes ive always had it Steve! but noticed none of the other Pumas do it only the RAF ones, yes i copied from the Swiss pack i put together last year, copied all text from [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] over my HC2 cfg text and copied the air file and renamed it NBMK_AI_Puma_AI_ONLY.air

I would say yours and Jims problem was not quite the same as mine as mine would tip over with lots of smoke and sink into the ground..

Much thanks

Normally that is due a weight imbalance, which is why I thought that something had been altered or corrupted.

I wish I could reproduce so that I could find out why. If you used a fresh install there would be no point in asking for your cfg and air file as they would be the same as mine. Very frustrating. Maybe it is something to do with FSX but that is still strange and I would like to get to the bottom of it.
