Kawasaki C-2's

Post by John Young »

Something quite simple and relaxing to do after the complexities of the F-35 project - The Kawasaki C-2.

It was always on my list to do, but was awaiting it's introduction into service. Now that the JASDF have 5 operating from Miho plus the two prototypes at Gifu, it was an appropriate time to make them, particularly as Brent is now finishing off major refurbishments to those two airfields.

These are the 7 aircraft at my test airfield, all done and dusted for FS9, FSX and P3Dv4:

This is the second prototype at Gifu, converted to an RC-2, ELINT aircraft that appeared on aviation web sites earlier this year:

This is the first prototype, also at Gifu, still in its red and white paint scheme:

The standard operational C-2:

All of the aircraft have flaps and slats for take-off and landing, plus spoilers and thrust reversers:

I was tempted to take some screen shots at Miho and Gifu, but that would be stealing Brent's thunder. I'm sure he will be posting some soon however. The C-2s look good there amongst all the other AI he has assembled.

Next job for me is to write a short manual and package.

Looking great John. I always liked the baby C-17.
I was about to ask you whether you would do this after the F-35s.

The Kawasaki C-2 FS9 and FSX/P3Dv4 packages were sent for inclusion in the Download Hangar this afternoon to join Miho airbase update from Brent, who has provided the parking and flight plans for the aircraft. Gifu will follow shortly.

Just allow Greg some time to process the files.

Thanks everyone.

What's next? Although the modelling for the first LOD is done for one of two variations, I'm not quite ready to reveal what it is yet. I'll tell you once I've done the mapping and applied some paint. I think it will be popular though, if the most wanted list is to go by.
