Jamie

Regarding Shaw AFB, I have lost my appetite for the models.

There are very few photos to reference, as should be the case with a military installation.

To top things off, the textures I have created lack 'texture and depth'. I was perhaps trying to use the minimum number of textures on complex large models.

I will upload a small library of completed, 'partially satisfactory', models to the library.
That way, if I ever get the aptitude to improve them, I have the rights to upload improved models and textures.

Almost done with Langley. Added the sun shelters that are there now and playing around with a few other things. Will upload in a couple of days for those who are interested.

Looks great! Which sim is this for, FSX or P3Dv4?

The old FS9 but I think it might work with FSX.

You might have a problem with the shelters in FSX and P3Dv4 Jamie. They look like the same ones at Eglin that I had to replace.

Are those the only items giving an issue? If so, I was wondering if you could send me a FSX version of those shelters. I could then easily make a FSX version, but couldn't test it unfortunately.

Jamie, if you want to send me a work in progress copy, I'll see how they display in all 3 sim versions. I have some replacements if they are needed that will work in all 3. Just need to ensure the shelters are in a separate .bgl so I can pull and replace if necessary.

I attached the FS9 version in this thread instead of uploading it to the download area.

Thanks Jamie, I missed that.

Well done. The scenery looks good in FS9 and I'm pleased to say it works also in FSX and P3Dv4 with no problematic shelters of either type.

For FSX and P3Dv4, users need to remove the 3 terrain files: 0_KLFI_VTPX.bgl, KLFI_LWM2.bgl and KLFI_VTPP otherwise there will be some deep chasm and water level issues over by the harbour.

Trees and fences are fine in FSX and P3Dv4. The water tower has the transparency issue we all know about when used in those sim versions, but apart from a bit of co-planar flickering, your scenery is good across the board.

I just realize that I forgot to add heavy parking. Sorry for the inconvenience. What I did was erase all of the fighter spots on the western ramp and added Three heavy spots for the C-17's that visited the base. Looking at Google earth, it looks like there is a 747 parked there, So I'm assuming that's where they are sending the heavies.
