Removing North America

Post by DButler »

Tried this morning to uninstall North America region but getting a message "something went wrong with deleting North America, try again or contact us via forum".
I have tried several times to delete this scenery without success, any help would be appreciated.

HI Dave,

Make sure P3Dv4 isn't running and that the MAIW_NA folder isn't open in Windows Explorer.

If that's the case, you can try deleting the content of MAIW_NA manually, then uninstall North America in Matrix to clean up.

I too have a problem. After the North America install it just locked on the opening screen. When I try to exit I can't turn it off and with a reboot the program restarts itself and locks up on opening screen again.

p3dv4 I've managed to delete all matrix programs. Is there a trick or fix coming for North America? Every time I install NA P3dv4 won't get past the opening screen.

How long did you wait? With the amount of traffic in North America it can easily take 10-15 minutes for P3D to load.

I waited over 8 hours. My only fix is to do a total uninstall of p3dv4 and start from scratch.

I think that we would consider that sufficient time to wait.

You say that this only happens with NA. What happens if you load only the global libs and just the NA region?

Matrix doesn't install anything inside the P3Dv4 folder so a total reinstall is not the solution.

You can verify if Matrix North America is causing this by simply renaming the add-on.xml file. Go to your Documents folder and rename the add-on.xml file in "Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\MAIW Region North America" to add-on.off. This breaks all links between P3Dv4 and the region.
