New AIDC AT-3
Now this is what I call a gorgeous "my first model"...
And he says that he will make a true AI out of it in course of the project and he was inspired by us. See here...

Very nicely done.
Re: New AIDC AT-3
Just to let you know that if you get stuck there are plenty of people here that can help you with anything AI related.

Re: New AIDC AT-3
Very nice indeed, particularly for a "first project". I love the screen shots in the link that Martin provided in the first post of this thread.
You have achieved something that is often difficult to master - a good texture depth and control of the smoothing groups to give a lovely finish to the airframe.
Well done.
John

Re: New AIDC AT-3
I don't have a copy of my AI MG_AT-3 model... but I like this model much more. Good work, and what standard to follow.

Sophie

Re: New AIDC AT-3
Hi Barry,
I've been doing a couple of AI projects but been frustrated by the FSX - P3D XtoMDL compiler protocols that make animations a heartbreaking experience using FSDS. I started a thread to see how many other developers are having difficulties with the FSX SDK and whether they can pass on any info, or better still, lend their experience to the project.
I can see that many AI projects are still being compiled via the make.MDL compiler and then being further converted to FSX accelerated - P3D via ModelConverter X. Which by the way seems to be the best way to avoid the issues that XtoMDL has for animated parts. Maybe others don't have the issues that I am experiencing or are better at doing the moving parts business of an aircraft.
I've also made a few static scenery models for FSX - P3D for Australia but I'm not sure what to do with them now that OzX website is down. Ok, they are famous Aussie trains but they took my fancy after being inspired by the Ghan ABC TV show.
