Andover C1

Post by timbob1 »

Anyone interested in finishing, reworking the TMAI model I started years ago. I managed to get her flying ok but I think it needs landing gear, flaps animations. I think the props worked ok, but the basics are there. I can get the source files for FSDS and send on if interested. Would be nice to see one of these in a retro setting.

It is a shame that you didn't get to finish it. i do hope that somebody takes it over.

H mate, hoping you are well. Yes I ran out of time and then got bored with it. It is one of my favourite early RAF transports, especially in the middle eastern scheme.

I'd love to see it finished... The I could recycle my Andover paints onto a real C1 model! (instead of the YS-11 stand-in)
Sadly, I don't have FSDS or enough talent to take it on :(

An interesting project, I have been thinking about creating a model myself.
I would like to help you finish it, and have some nice ideas for this model.

It's a model not far from being finished. Start doing the paint mapping and you'll find a new love for the model.

Cheers Guys, I haven't the time or patience anymore, it's been sitting here for four years. Menno has agreed in principle to take this on. As for repaints, get your paints ready, there's several RAF RNZAF RAE options to choose from. Such a pretty aircraft I always thought, how about it taxi to apron, stop kneel and ramp opens. Be a nice retro addition to the MAIW arsenal

Well I made a complete set of RNZAF schemes, layered paint shop pro templates etc.... I could throw that in if it helps?

No worries. I'm currently in the middle of Queensland's worst bush fires with wild fires either side of me tonight. Very frightening but I'm safe.

Keep Safe, I was quite close to the bush fires in Sydney a while back, pretty hair raising stuff.

The reason that I remain hopeful for an HS780 is that I flew on an E3 back in the days with 115 Sqn from Brize.
Nice aircraft but thankfully it didn't have the range of a C-130. I would imagine that the high-pitched whine would drive you mad going to Cyprus - even with ear defenders.

Now even more - I hope that somebody takes up the mantle of this aircraft.
I have just seen what is in the queue for the Downloads Library.

Well... I'm keen to help in any way... given that NZ was the only export customer of the 780 :)
