So here I go:
1. Fire Station - When was built the new big Tower Block to the east side? I prefere the older fire station because of its flair, but the scenery shall represent the 80s and 90s, so it would be good to know about it...
How long did they use the Bedford MK8? Thinking about using the newer fire engines I could use from RAF Gütersloh otherwise...
2. When was the rail movement abandoned? Were the rails used until the end of the 90s, I would like to add some trains and waggons...
3.If so, by when, how long and where were Blood Hound Missiles stationed at Brüggen? I read some documentaries that talk about, but never found any detailed sites. I assume they were placed around the nuclear weapon area in case.
Regards, Manfred.

Ok to start, I arrived there about 97 and the tower at the fire section was there and had been for quite a few years. Don't know if you have pictures of the tower but it 2 storey's high, the entrance was situated facing the concrete apron in front of the appliance bays. It also had 1 square window on the first floor facing the same direction. As for the fire vehicles, the mk8's were fazed out in the 80's, Bruggen in the 80/90's would have had Thorneycroft Nubian Majors (known as Mk9's ) with the addition of MK11's in the early 90's. So a typical line up would be TACR 2 in the bay furthest from the new tower (6 wheeled range rover) followed by 2 x mk11's in the middle 2 bays and at the end would have been the domestic truck ( angus medium on a Bedford chassis). The funny thing about introducing the MK11'S was that they didn't fit into the bays and the cabs would sick out the front so after a few years of being there the cabs were pink and the rest was the usual red colour. To cure this they built a RUBB hangar next to the fire section to accommodate them.
As for the trains, regular movement stopped in the 70's/80's but they still used the lines to store the BFG rolling stock in the late 90's and we had occasional movement every so often. As for the bloodhounds I'm not sure I but I think they left in 83.

Wow, a lot of information. Thank you, Paul.
So firstly, there are some awesome videos existing at YouTube, where I got a lot of informations and details from:

Maybe you know them, if not, I hope it's a nice surprise to you :-D
Regarding this, I know very well how the fire station tower looks like, today it is all painted white though. So if I don't get out when it was built exactly, maybe I will add a construction site of a half-done tower.....M-A-Y-B-E lol....
I have a 6 wheeled range rover also in use at RAF Gütersloh.
the Thornycroft indeed is a vehicle that has to be build yet, but that's not a big deal...
Check.
Secondly, maybe I will stretch the timeline to have trains in use a little later on (only if I am up for it in the end of Brüggen's completion ;-D ). I will add the railways next days. Check.
Thirdly, it's accommodating not to create a blood hound section additionally.

Let me know about your thoughts of the videos. Maybe there are some more fine memories....
Regards, Manfred.

I totally agree - same with RAF Gütersloh these days or all abandoned air bases in general. But a crumb of comfort we can rise them from the dead in flightsim 8)

  - Paul, just to say, regarding my investigations for the fire station, I went back to my threat over there at FSDeveloper - and there I found a pic I posted (a little further downside...):

https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threa ... _x.438261/

And there's a kind guy called "Paul1964" who gaves me a lot of valuable hints already  :P 8) . Maybe you know him as well....

That pic there exactly shows all your accurate descriptions only from memories...Wow! I am sure I would have finished all my sceneries already if I would not always forget half the things I posted all around the world's forums  .

Anyway, just to say, yap - you are completely right regarding the fire engines! So some few models need to be build additionally...
Regards, Manfred.

Manfred, e-mail a photo of each of the fire engines you need. I might have some in my retro sceneries.

Thank you all very much.

Today I finished the animated Hangar doors at Brüggen. Most of them also got interiours. All folded doors are techniques kindly provided by Steven Legg.
