Paints on the way - just not all 100+ airframes. Hang tight, coming soon.

Now that the MH-65 has been converted for FSX, I am working on a package for CGAS Kodiak, Alaska. I've done repaints for the MH-60s and HC-130Js using MAIW paintkits, but I haven't been able to find a paintkit for the MH-65. Does anyone know if one exists? If there isn't one, does anyone know how to get a hold of the original author (I think it's Ryan Cobb) so I can get permission to use the blank textures in the original package as a basis for my repaints?

There is no paintkit as such. I painted two Dolphins for every CGAS that supports the aircraft. The paints have been sent to Martin and will be released when he publishes the FSX AI model.

It has been released, Joe :-). That’s where this question is coming from.
Maybe you can PM Dan with a short description how you did it.
Cheers,
Martin

I am installing the new USCG Kodiak package and for the flightplan of one of the Jayhawks AIFP is giving me a error that Leg 02: Leg duration too long. Flight unable to return within repeat period. I don't see where the error is to correct it.

Here is the plan.

AC#x,6037,1%,WEEK,VFR,4/23:23,5/05:20,090,F,6037,PASN,5/21:23,TNG5/00:42,030,F,6037,5ADQ,5/00:43,5/02:50,030,F,6037,PASN,5/21:23,TNG6/00:42,030,F,6037,5ADQ,6/00:43,6/02:50,030,F,6037,PASN,6/21:23,TNG0/00:42,030,F,6037,5ADQ,0/00:43,0/02:50,030,F,6037,PASN,1/16:43,1/22:40,090,F,6037,ADQ

The second leg starts at 21:23 on day 5 and ends at 00:42 on day 5. This makes the flight almost a week long. You need to change the end time to 6/00:42, and then change all the subsequent days to match.
Hope this helps.

Big thanks for doing this Kodiak project, great to have more USCG in the sim with updated models. I just need to repaint the "goatee" off the H-65 left seater's face!

Here you go , Chris.
He shaved and they have name tags now. I tried a couple ways to put their rank on the epalettes, but it appears that isn't mapped to the figures.
Just unzip and replace the "IACpilots" file in the texture.default folder.

D'oh! Good catch. This is one downside to being old-school and using straight text files and TTools rather than some of the newer, better tools like AIFP. Just personal preference in the way that I have found works for me. I'll make the change and update the package. Let me know if you find any other issues. Joe, I can also add the new pilot texture if you would like.

Can you provide a copy of the model C needed for this package, or provide the location where I can find it? I have the original aircraft but not the ai version or model needed.

Thank you.

Dan, it's okay by me.

Boss, I'm not sure what you mean by "model C". If you are referring to the HC-130J model, it's available here (MAIW) in the downloads section, I would think.

I think he means the HH-65C model.

Here's the fixed flightplan text file and fixed FS9 and FSX traffic BGLs to correct the issue with Jayhawk 6037. I'll add Joe's pilot texture and upload the updated package today.

I've read through Dan's .pdf and there is no mention of an HH-65C.
USCG MH-65E is the latest upgrade being done and not all -65s have been completed yet.AFAIK

Thanks Joe, my eyes were just zeroing in on this and thinking "didn't he shave this morning prior to assuming alert SAR". Tested last night and I guess ORBX has an updated Kodiak as well, conflicting with this one. Happened in Yuma as well which required fixing.
