AFD from FSX to FS9

Post by bismarck »

Hi all,
is there a way to "downgrade" a scenery created with ADEX for FSX, to make it working in FS9?

Thanks in advance, Giorgio

I thought that you could save it as an FS( scenery and it would lose the incompatible items.

However, my 15 mins at looking at it seems to indicate that ADE prevents you from doing just that.
I didn't realise this. To be fair all of the ones I convert have been using AFX. It just warns you that you will lose stuff and then saves compatible items.

S0, unless anybody knows the way in ADE my answer would be to use AFX.

I have used FSX to FS9 for many of the older afcads.

If the airport has been heavily modified then it will not compile in FS9 because some of the details in FSX are different.

Most of the time the XML file will be created.

Manual editing of this XML file enables me to import the basics into ADE using the "open from XML function".

Most of the time removing the footprints of objects is all that is needed to get the xml to import.
