Thanks Henk for the avsim headsup!!

Delboy - those "old school" red/white birds looks great! Do I understand correctly from your RAF Valley screenshot, that you have some of the TWU camo schemes in the works too? And low vis? Wow.

Anyway - these will be eagerly enjoyed - thanks for the teaser shots.

There are quite easy to alter for FS9 so no big deal.
When I say quite easy, what I mean is if a completely incompetent graphic package user like myself can do it anybody can.

I have to say it's great to see the burgeoning amount of 1980s-90s stuff that's being produced now. While the up-to-date stuff is lovely, it's a very much smaller pool of subjects than the late Cold War period, yet there was much around then that is still familiar. In the UK in 1980, we had around 100 active military aviation sites. Now, we have about 25.

If you could that would be great.

I have just uploaded the FSX repaints for the RAF Valley and RAF Brawdy Hawks. I still have to convert the paints to FS9 format. Hopefully, I'll get that done over the next couple of days.

Very nice textures. I have converted them and added them to my collection.

When investigating some data for the Hawks it came to my attention that I think 3 sqns are missing.
Firstly, 2 TWU became 7 FTS in 1992 and 63(R) and 151(R) became 19(R) and 92(R) sqns. Both with Grey birds at Chivenor.

Lastly, one of the 4 FTS Sqns was 74(R) with black schemed birds, before being either disbanded or renumbered.

If I missed any of those could somebody point them out to me please. If nobody has done them and somebody is of a mindset to do them then that would be very welcome.

Thank you Steve. You are correct 63 an 151 squadron were part of 2 TWU at Chivenor. I haven't painted their aircraft yet, but they are on my to do list. 63 sqn and 151 sqn became 19 and 92 sqns in 1992, and then moved to Valley around 94.

I painted the aircraft as they were in the mid 80's, this was before 4 FTS adopted squadron numbers. At that time 74 squadron was still flying F-4Js. I'm not sure, but I think the squadron numbers and black paint came in the early/mid 90's when Brawdy and Chivenor closed and all the Hawks all moved to Valley.

I have converted the paints to FS9 format, but as I don't have FS9 installed any more, I would like someone to check them for me before I release them. Any volunteers?

You are correct about the red hawks at Valley they were just plain 4FTS. I believe that the scheme changed to gloss black around the same time that 4FTS became shadow sqns. I don't think that 74(R) flew in grey but it would be fitting if they were.

The shadow sqns at Valley did change number plates a bit and I am not sure of which sqns existed at which time. I can't seem to find anything online that lists them.

That's nice. So they did fly in the grey scheme. I had only seen pics of them in black.

When 74 Sqn moved from Phantoms to Hawks in 1993, they had the grey ones. After 1993 they became black (at least that is what I conclude from my spotters archive). When I visited Valley in May 1997, I got these with 74 Sqn markings:

XX186 black
XX226 black w large tiger on tail
XX303/TU black
XX332/TD grey, black tail
XX339/TV black

I have just uploaded a small package of repaints of the Hawks used by the RAE and EPTS at Boscombe Down during the 1980's. I also uploaded repaints for 2 TWU at Chivenor as few weeks ago. Available for for both FS9 and FSX.

I wanted to ask about the aircraft over in Asia. I got the new ones for Osan AB but is there anything for Misawa AB in Northern Japan?
