Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
Chris, that is by design, NBAI_Harrier_LM.dds is a texture sheet used for the night time slime lights on several FSX/P3D models I converted, including the Eurofighter Typhoon. I created it when I converted the Harriers, hence the name.

Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
I am going to install Oman's Typhoons and I have a question. The paints were not included in the conversion pack so I am going to convert them myself. Do I need to do that alpha channel thing so the canopy is clear like you need to do with the Hornets?
I ask because I don't have scenery or a AFCAD for the home base so I might not be able to see them in the sim.

Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
As a general principle always use an alpha that is compatible with the target system.
What I mean is that I have often used an FSX scheme for my system which I have converted to FS9 use. I simply flip the scheme and replace the alpha with an appropriate one that I have exported from an FS9 scheme.

Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
Thanks. But I may not need to do anything. I just looked in the zip and there are bmp and dds textures in there. I downloaded the file but didn't actually look at the files until now.
But I will keep what you said in mind for when I need to convert MAIW textures.

Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
How do you Convert the flight sim X euroflighter typhoon to flight sim 2004 to get the up to date raf typhoons
Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
what up to date RAF Typhoon textures for FSX do you mean ?
Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
aod4567, only existing FS9 textures and models were used as the source for the FSX/P3D conversion. If you need the original BMP format copies of these FS9 textures you can search for them in the Owls Nest: http://www.owlsnest.eu/aiaircraft.php

Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
If you mean Steve's RAF Typhoon 2020 pack then the principle is exactly the same as I described for converting the C-130 here in the tutorial section https://militaryaiworks.com/forums/33/18855.
Now what I included in there is everything that you need to understand and do everything manually. The one big advantage in this case is that the textures are 1024x1024 so you do not need to resize them.
Now if you understand the post and understand the pitfalls of avoiding losing detail then you can use Don Grovestine's Texture Manager http://stuff4fs.com/newpage.asp?Folder= ... anager.pdf.
With this tool not only can you do several things at once but you can do whole packages at once.
Now using the tool I would advise you to use the 'list files' option before you start to ensure that you are doing all the files that you want to. If you use that then I would always convert them in a temp location on your PC so that you can't screw up anything you have installed already. you just install them once you know everything is OK.
On this occasion what actually needs to happen is flip the images and alphas, change the file type and the compression. If you use the tool when you change the file type to bmp from dxt it automatically flips the image and alpha.
Hope this helps.

Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
I am finding it hard to do that
Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
What are finding hard? The manual conversion or the use of Texture Manager?

Do you mean both? Have you got Texture Manager on your system?

Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
there seems to be an issue with the canopy according to the model viewer in aiae it seems to be completely opaque. is this normal in aiae or is it a glitch in the model?

Re: MAIW NBAI Eurofighter Typhoon Conversion Support
How does it look in the sim? The model is correct, that is for sure. Might it be, that you have not copied a shared texture to the correct location?
