Ado, Ian is not the least bit interested in Coningsby for FS9. I don't think he even has FS9 any more. Just be satisfied that you will be getting new Typhoons to use with the current FS9 Coningsby.

I released a FS9 version of the FSX scenery in 2013 which is in the download hangar. That version will be sufficient for Johns new models in FS9.

ado, looking back over your history of posts, you have asked over 50, FS9 , "is there going to be", "when will" and "what about"- type questions and you have had one warning. Every time you do that for my projects, you try to send me in a direction I may or may not want to go in. Please stop doing that, it is annoying.

The 8 RAF Load-outs are all done. I've decided on:

- FGR4 standard
- FGR4 standard with airbrake on the runway (to be assigned sparingly)
- T.3 Standard
- T.3 Standard with brake chute (to be assigned sparingly)
- FGR4 Paveways and Litening pod
- FGR4 Paveways and Brimstones
- FGR4 Storm Shadows
- FGR4 QRA fit

These are the ones you haven't seen yet:

Storm Shadows (not sure these are operational yet)

Apart from Qfit, all weapons are inert, but I'll provide a separate weapons texture sheet with live stores so users can pop these into selected local texture folders to use if desired.

Next job is to make the German, Spanish and Italian loud-outs so that I can get them to the painters.

Stunning looking model as always John. It amazes me the speed with which you go from first concept to a finished model that would embarrass a payware developer. Thanks for your continuing efforts.

Looking sooooo good, John. We should expect it after so many models you have provided, and yet it is still such a nice surprise each time.

From mobile hence short

Cheers,

Lovely stuff John, they're looking fantastic. Only thing I'd say is the brimstone model would have the LDP fitted as its used for targeting them as well as the Paveways.

Thanks Dale, I've now added the LDP to the Brimstone model.

Can any of our German members help me understand the Luftwaffe Typhoon load-outs please? I've spent a good few hours studying photos and videos, but I'm just not confident on what to model.

The standard day to day load-out seems to be 2 wing tanks with an inert IRIS-T missile on the left outer pylon and an ACMI pod (small diameter rod) on the right.

I'm confused with the QRA fit. The only thing I'm happy with are 2 wing tanks. In a few videos, I've seen ab IRIS-T' on the outer pylons and no AMRAAMs (BVRAAMs) in the belly recesses. In one other, I saw 4 IRIS_T's and what appeared to be AIM-120's in the forward belly recesses only. I thought Germany was using Meteor as the BVRAAM fit?

The air to ground fit is even more obscure. I did find 2 photos of a Paveway configuration similar to the RAF load-out I've modelled, but with Paveway II's rather than IV's.

I found one photo of a Taurus configuration on the tank pylons. Like the Paveways, I don't know how common that is, probably not. That photo also showed a PIRATE sensor on the left side below the cockpit fixed canopy. It's the only time I've seen a German Typhoon with it fitted. I wonder how it got there?

While I await some clarity, hopefully, I'll go through the same exercise with the Spanish Typhoons.

Hi John,

I went through a few websites documenting daily Luftwaffe operations at Wittmund, Nörvenich, Neuburg and Laage.

These are the day to day loadouts

single seaters:
2 tanks, 2 Iris-T - Wittmund, Neuburg - QRA
2 tanks, 1 Iris-T, 1 ACMI pod
2 tanks only, (no inner pylons)
2 tanks, (no inner pylons), LDP (Nörvenich - Recce, also Neuburg)
clean, single, outer pylons
clean, outer pylons only
3 tanks only, (no inner pylons) (Neuburg)
3 tanks, 1 Iris-T, 1 ACMI pod

twin seater:
2 tanks only
3 tanks,1 Iris-T, 1 ACMI pod

Manching is home of the German Air Force Test and Evaluation Center.
So the could hang anything on it.

If you search for "Luftwaffe Baltic Air Policing" you will find pictures with operational loadouts including Aim-120s.
However there are different configurations.

I have not seen any photos of a Luftwaffe Eurofighter with a Meteor missile yet, except for some promotion photos.

The Luftwaffe Eurofighters are only getting into the air to ground business nowadays:
They will introduce the GBU-48

Thanks Hartwig, that's really useful. I want to limit the number of Luftwaffe models to 8, as I did for the RAF, so I am going to opt for:

Single seat:

- 2 tanks + 2 IRIS-T (will also serve Austria).

- 2 tanks + 1 IRIS-T + ACMI (very commonly seen in photos).

- 2 tanks + LDP (Recce).

- 2 tanks + 4 Paveways + 2 IRIS-T's + LCP.

- QRA (still need to find photo confirmation of what I think the load is).

- Taurus (To add interest. Maybe seen at Manching perhaps)

2 seat:

- 2 tanks

- 3 tanks + IRIS-T and ACMI (This model will have the brake chute).

I will be making a single seat no tanks EF2000 with 2 IRIS-T's for Austria, so users will be able to add it to the Luftwaffe mix as well. This model will have the airbrake functional.

QRA fit usually is - 2 tanks + 2 IRIS-T

This is the page of a local spotter at Wittmund
https://www.facebook.com/pages/category ... 975805115/

if you search for QRA on airfighters.com you will find a lot of Luftwaffe Eurofighters.
https://www.airfighters.com/photosearch ... =QRA&pag=1

AFAIK normally Wittmund AB provides the QRA for northern Germany and Neuburg AB for southern Germany.
Nörvenich also sometimes takes over QRA duties.

Thanks Hartwig. I finally confirmed the 2 tanks + 2 IRIS-T QRA fit, only by looking at the colour of the rings on the missiles in one of the links you posted. They indicated live (brown and yellow). I wasn't expecting that because it's a very light load for QRA. In other pictures, particularly for Baltic Policing and a couple of HAS shots, I found 2 IRIS-T's but also AIM-120's in the forward fuselage recesses. I was looking for another photo to see if 2 more were in the rear slots. However, I'll keep it simple and save a separate QRA model.

John

PS: I'm assuming that the LCP option has two tanks (not sure about IRIS_T's). Do you know which squadron has a recce role please and I'll try and find a photo.

Ignore the RAF paint scheme, but this a Luftwaffe EF2000 (T) with a fairly standard load-out of 3 tanks, 1 IRIS_T and an ACMI:

Image

This is will also be a Luftwaffe example, but of the single seat, this time carrying Taurus missiles and defensive weaponry:

Image

These are two of the 8 Luftwaffe models now done and ready for painting, along with the 2 Austrian models. I'll be contacting the people who have volunteered to paint these aircraft to see if that's still possible, to brief them if it is and to supply the packages and paint kit. I'm going to paint the Italian aircraft for Giorgio myself, but I first need to check what models I need. I think I may have most of them already, with a small mod or two.

A question, if people could help me please?

The Luftwaffe Typhoons are principally based at 4 airfields:

Norvenich (ETNN)
Wittmunhafen (ETNT)
Rostock_Laage (ETNL)
Neuburg (ETSN)

What freeware scenery are people using, if any, for each of these airfields in FS9, FSX and P3D please?

Me personally, I am using the ETNN and ETNL sceneries made available on this forum by GvB and JGT respectively. My ETSN was done by Chris A Brown and Menno and was released into the wild. My ETNT was released by Ian Elliot.

I haven't checked that these are the best around, it is just what I am using. All FS9.

If you need more info I can look into it/them for you.
