No, that's not helping. Please do what I am asking you to do.

The aircraft.cfg file on it's own isn't enough. I need to see the whole aircraft folder so that I can look for spelling, mismatch and format errors. It's why I offered you my e-mail address. I don't need a screen shot from your computer, at least not at the moment.

Are you able to zip up the whole aircraft as I asked? If you can, let me know when it's done.

All you have done there is copied and pasted the FltsimXX.txt file from the Iraqi Herk package.

What have you actually got in your C-130H aircraft.cfg for those aircraft?
Can we assume that you have in fact added those entries to that file and renumbered them?

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

Post by John Young »

I'm getting really tired of this. I PM'd you my e-mail address on the basis of that you were ready to send the zipped up file of the whole aircraft so that I can check everything, not just the odd bits you keep posting that only tell part of the story.

I've been checking my e-mails since yesterday evening, but nothing from you has arrived, including in my Spam folder.

Have you sent the zip?

Why haven't you sent the zip?. Just attach it to your message.

I have deleted your e-mail address from your post because you really don't want to do that on a public forum. What is it you think I'm going to send to you in any case?

I've just checked my sent message from yesterday evening, giving you my e-mail address and notice that you have not bothered to open it. I have therefore deleted it.

If you ask for help, you need to respond to what is being asked in order to help you solve the problem. "Nope" is not an acceptable response.

I'm reluctant to waste any more time on this, when I'm trying to get the Wildcat\Merlin packages finished.

Send it again, but make sure the zip is visible as an attached file before you hit send.

Post by John Young »

Got them, but you never make it easy for us. Why did you need to send 7 zips for an aircraft with just 3 texture folders. Unzipping was a pain because there was so much duplication. Just create one zip.

There were two problems.

The zips you sent me had one model folder called "Model". The aircraft.cfg file calls for "model=C-130H_open". That mismatch prevented the aircraft from showing at all until I used the same names, but it may be that you have the "C-130H_open" folder but didn't zip it, so it may not cause a problem for you.

The real problem is that there is a mismatch between the texture name called by the model and the texture names in the 3 folders you sent me:

The texture called by the model is "jyai_C-130h_t.bmp"

The texture name in the folders you sent is "jyai_C-130j_t.bmp"

So, if you change the "j" to an "h" in the texture names, your textures should show, as they did for me:

Image

The solution was given to you by Steve in his first point and by me in the first point of the following post, 2 days ago. We didn't need to go through these diversions.

Please carry out the j/h change and confirm that you can now see the textures.

Thanks Ray, but re-reading the posts, I could have been a bit more tolerant in the circumstances.

I'm trying to get to the root cause of the problem here. Jim's Iraqi repaint package gives a link in his manual to Brent's Nagoya package for the C-130H model. That model is correct in that both the texture called and the texture name in the folders are the same - "jyai_C-130j_t.bmp". That's also consistent with Jim's naming of the repaints too, so everything should work fine.

So the question is where did the H model with the different texture name come from that ado used? Had the link been followed to the Nagoya package, there shouldn't have been a problem.
