JYAI P-8A

Post by FERG »

Hi

Please can anyone advise me if these is a P3D conversion yet for JYAI P-8A?

I saw one for the AIA aircraft but not the JYAI.

Many thanks

I may be slightly inaccurate here but I believe that if I am somebody will correct me.

If there is a dedicated FSX version of a model then there will not be a specific P3D conversion as it will work fine there.
There was an FSX version released and I checked the Oceania regional package for the Matrix and found the P-8 included so I think that we can safely say that you are good to go.

The FSX version of the JYAI P-8 works perfectly in P3D.

I am surprised you missed them. They were in the JY's RAF Typhoon pack.

Hello Firebird and thank you for the help.

I have installed the RAF Poseidons and EGQS.

But i suspect the AFCAD seems to have a problem. All the Parkinpositions at the new Poseidon Hanger are not connected with the taxiways. When Poseidons want to start from one of the four Parking Spots, the aircrafts disapear instantly.

Did somebody else report that problem before? I use FS9.

The other question that I have is about the Waypoint folder. Do I have to insert the content in the ./Addon Scenery/Scenery folder?

I have added the Scenery as "EGQS_Royal Air Force Lossiemouth" in the scenery library.

First I created a folder with the name "EGQS_Royal Air Force Lossiemouth_Waypoints" and added it in the scenery library, too.
But when i restarted the sim, I got a message which tells, that there is a problem with the scenery.cfg.

So I deleted the EGQS_Royal Air Force Lossiemouth_Waypoints" folder, and placed all files in the Addon Scenery/Scenery folder.
Now, I dont know if I have followed the instructions in the PDF correctly.

Thanks to all who worked on this package, which makes lots of fun to use.

OK on the waypoints John deals with where they go in section 7 of his readme. I think that covers it.

You didn't say what error you got with the the scenery.cfg when you started the game, so i can't answer that one.
The two most likely causes are that you didn't type the folder name in correctly, or that you didn't place the waypoints in a scenery folder under EGQS_Royal Air Force Lossiemouth_Waypoints, like you have to for all scenery.

As for the afcad, I checked it and it is the case that all three taxiways linking the hanger exit are closed so you are correct that they will disappear. I will have to let the afcad producer take a look at what he wants to do.

*UPDATE*
In the meantime what you can do yourself is move those parking spots to the bottom of the list from the top. This will mean that they will be used last not first.

Today i tried to fix the Afcad problem.

I edited with ADE the closed red taxi links.

I changed them into blue Taxiway lines.

The problem with disapearing Poseidons is still there.

I have had a quick look at the original AFCAD from the download and there were a couple of disconnected taxiways that may be causing the problem. I have correct these probs and the file is attached. Please backup your original file first. I no longer have FS9 running on any of my machines so cannot check it myself.

Hello

petebramley and firebird.

I have tested the AFCAD and it works now.
I also noticed that some taxiways got yellow lines (near Poseidon Hangar).

I have still two questions.

1) Will you upload an updated RAF Poseidon package on the Download Hangar, now after the AFCAD has been fixed?

2) Do you know on which Parking Positions C-17 park in Lossimouth and Coningsby?

I saw many images on google, that the C-17 often came to these bases.

Thank you for very much your help and for the support of FS9!

An updated package is for the originator of the package to decide. He may incorporate the updated AFCAD but that’s totally up to him.

Parking positions can be very fluid and change over time as Airfields are improved. I very much doubt that FS9 sceneries will be updated by the originators of those packages. If you know where C17’s currently park then you can always amend the AFCAD files yourself.

If you don't like them, or think that they are inaccurate, you are always free to change them.

Why? He never released a package before it was a nice add on to a Typhoon package and the modified afcad is attached to this thread.

Pete created two unassigned spots at LSM that can take the C-17 and other large aircraft, and CGY has one. What more do you need?

The package is a comprehensive Typhoon package. The P8-A's are a bonus. I won't be re-releasing the package when most people know how to connect 4 P8 parking spots. As Steve says, the amended AFCAD is available in this thread.

Hello

I want to ask if there are 737-P-8I Indian Navy textures with the DAB marking on the tail for the INS Hansa in Dabolim Goa.

At least three examples will be based there at "INAS315 Winged Stallions" unit. IN 328, IN 329 and IN 330 are the regs.

https://www.planespotters.net/photo/121 ... ne-737-8fv

In the big Poseidon package I only found 8x 737-P-8I with ARK tail which are based as "INAS312 Albatross" at INS Rajali in Arakkonam.

Also I would like to ask if there is a scenery availible for INS Hansa.

Thank you for your help.

As everybody knows I am not a painter, so I can't speak for any specific person on this subject.

There may be 3x a/c on INAS315A but there are 7 more on order. Where do they go? I am guessing that a painter may wait until the final destination for the remaining 7x a/c are known.
