Firefox and IE are no longer opening on Windows 7. They were working fine yesterday when I switched the PC off. Now they aren't loading. BTW I'm using my phone to send this.
Any ideas please?
The download hangar is currently disabled. We're doing our best to bring it back as soon as possible.

That sounds kinda ominous, that you swept it and one started working.
What is your default app setting for Web Browser? Try resetting that to the browser you want to see if that cures it.
The next thing I would try is to use the MS online OS checker to see if you have any issues. You can read more about the utility online but a basic 'DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth' in an admin command prompt should give you a idea.
Here is a good basic article on using dism https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use- ... s-10-image.
Using the dism and sfc tools would definitely ease my mind about damage done by outside influences.

Re: Browsers not opening
Thanks Steve
I found that Windows firewall was turned on as well the firewall in my AV software, which is strange as turned off the Windows firewall. So far the browsers are working again. No idea why Windows turned on the Firewall as it was disabled.
I will use the tools you suggest to check though.
Cheers

Well that is a relief if that is the case.
