If the new German aircraft is the same as the RAF C-130J with a probe, then all we need is a paint and a flight plan. I'd need to see a better photo or two to check that and to paint it. Do we know where the aircraft is based/to be based?

Hello John,

The German C-130J will be based in France, in a French German common C130J squadron based at Evreux Air Base, Normandy.

Thanks for that. Sounds like it's too early to paint this one then. We really need to know what the combined squadron will look like rather than tackle it as one aircraft at a time.

They will get 6 of them.
They will be used only by special forces.
May be KSK, Kommando Spezialkräfte.

3 C-130J & 3 KC-130J for Germany
2 C-130J & 2 KC-130J for France

All of them will be based at Evreux in France.

France will use them principally for Special Forces but Germany will use the to fill the gap with de withdrawing of C-160

Hello,

The first German Air Force KC-130J appeared in Marietta.
It is the first of three ordered examples.
3x C-130J-30 were delivered, yet.

At the end of 2023, all three tankers will join the other three C-130J-30 in Evreux in France.
