The image above is on JetPhotos from Nov 2020 and has the comment - New tail flash for 960th ACCS "Vikings"
I couldnt find any pictures of the tailband though.

the problem would be Gav, by the time we put a package together it would already be out of date with someone pointing out that a certain airframe is not correct ? you can collect all the chicks its keeping them in the pen that's the problem
I will look at this in the new year and come up with something.

Jason,
just to let you know that I have indeed found the pack you did.

The layout of colours appears to be identical to Rays, or very close to it. I still think that if we can come up with some up to date info to create a new one it would be better than what you guys created a few years ago.
As Ray said some people will immediately say that it is out of date.

I would rather you guys get credit for a good job rather than negative feedback. There is too much negativity in a freeware hobby, IMHO.

You can't please everyone in flightsim land, even more so when it comes to giving up your free time and gifting them a freeware package.

If you do look in to doing more with it feel free to give me a shout if you want a hand to make a snapshot in time of what was based where?

Gav,
You help here would be most welcome.
In an ideal world we would like to know the unit allocations, and seemingly the most difficult thing to ascertain is the colour bands they are wearing.
It was bad enough when we had the simple colour bands but now this new band for the 960th replacing the white one is adding to it.

In an ideal world we would like current info but we are realists. If you have any PIT data for anytime in the last 18 months would be good. Any info you can give would be appreciated. I
Steve

lots of info there, but its already 12-18 months out of date.
I painted all the airframes from 2016 but couldn't find information where each aircraft was based.
it might take a while but I will look into it, even if a "retro" package is released or just replacements for the original release from MAIW.

Nice one, Gav.
If you have got some pics of the new 960th bands it is definitely something that painters like to keep in their vault. I am also intrigued by the black and white checked tail. That is that story I wonder.

Do you happen to know if just the 960th has a new one or whether the others are going through a mid-life crisis as well?

I'll sort out the images of the other tailbands later on today.

Interesting article there, Gav. Shame there were no pics of the bands, would have been a god send to painters. Also strange that they don't mention the 960th flash.

You need to click on the header to see the tailband images as they are out of shot, so to speak.

I'll sort out the others later,

Gav

edit:

These 3 plus the two above only leave the Vikings tail missing (I think).
The best quality I can get to attach here, sorry.

Well done, Gav.
You have at least provided some useful insight and info for these units.
