Lockheed T-33A / Canadair CT-133

Post by hschuit »

I am working on a classic jet model which is a niche aircraft for most MAIW users but I want to use it for 1980's western Europe traffic in P3DV5. Besides that it is fun to do and a nice way to stay current with Blender.

Niche be damned. I want it. Most British aircraft could be termed niche due to the numbers produced or users that had them in service.

Now if some painter was clever enough to come up with the scheme for Ormond Haydon-Baillie's ones that we based at Duxford that would be superb. His Black Knight is the most famous but he did have a silver one there too.

tornado3367, I only have P3Dv5.3 but I am 90% sure it will work in P3Dv4 too.

Steve, I will try to paint the Duxford machine.

What a very nice surprise, Henk. That one was always very high on my wish list. My father in law was flying the Shooting Star before the RF-4. It is a very beautiful aircraft.

May I please ask for some AG-51 paints. I love everything with an Owl on it …

The Blue Angels looked great with the T-Bird, as does the classic metallic outfit.

This will be a great addition and I look forward to it. When I was growing up the California ANG unit had F-106s and a couple of T-33s.

WIP Screenshots from P3Dv5.3. It is a bit of a puzzle to create textures which are good for both P3D and FSX but with some compromises it can be done.

Today, I submitted the packages for acceptance into the library. There will be 2 separate downloads, one for legacy sims (FSX - P3Dv1 - v3) and one for P3Dv4 - v5 with PBR enabled. A paint kit will be released separately.
This release covers a selection of T-33A and CT-133’s from units which were active in Western Europe during the 1970’s + one representing CT-133 G-TBRD from 2006, the year it sadly crashed.

Very well done. One of the best schemes, I think, was G-TBRD in its previous guise as G-OAHB 'The Black Knight'.
Anybody who saw that flying around the UK in the 70s will never forget it. That and his CF-100 - at the time when most people wondered what the bl**dy hell a Cf-100 was.

A couple of T-Birds from Europe based USAF units are present in the package as well: 57th FIS (Keflavik) and 26th TRW (Ramstein).

Sorry guys but the airbrakes animation is not correct. They should be lowered when the aircraft is on final approach and when it is parked. I forgot to add the parked condition... Anyway, I have submitted the updated files to Martin.
