Got all the Kanehoe Bay PHNG Orions flying by downloading this package from Avsim: https://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=126837

I just had to take the afcad into ADE (as I use P3D only), reset the draw flags for aprons and taxi links. I do not use the model librarys recommended, as this is too much extra work. It looks great with the default buldings. The Orions were all found in the updated conversion package.

I am unshure if this is support related, just want to tell you how to get more of them flying :)

Please move this post to the right place if I missed.

Well that package that you downloaded was the original FS9 release. The Conversion package you have contains all of our released Orions updated to FSX standard, including those of that package.

I use the updated aircraft & paints. I said it in my previous post. They popped right into the FP :-)

This was one of the earliest conversions I did so I have gone back and updated the models slightly.
I have just uploaded a v1.2 package of revised models. The update includes reducing the LODs to 3 and adding nose wheel steering to all models.

Enjoy

Hey Gavin,

I just had a look at your upload, but found that we already have a version 1.2 from you in our hangar.

https://militaryaiworks.com/download-ha ... rsions-jai

We also have an "official" conversion package with a later date but versioned 1.1. To avoid confusion we should perhaps see with Martin if we can simply update the official conversion package with your revised models and remove the other file?

Hey Greg :) ,

My apologies, the latest version I had on my HD was 1.1, hence the 1.2 numbering on the update.

It would be probably be best if Martin can update the official package with the new models.

Sorry for the confusion.

No worries. I'll update the card on our internal project board, then Martin can pick it up when he has time. :smt023

I know this is a older thread but I think I have a problem with my Orion's in P3D. I don't see these planes a lot in the sim and tonight I saw one and the nosewheel was not straight. It was at a 90-degree angle to the plane.

I did not see the plane taxi so I don't know if the nose wheel is straight when the plane is moving, but when parked this Orion had it's nosewheel at a 90-degree angle to the plane.

Has anyone else seen this in their sim?

Edit: this is in P3D v5.4

I can't be sure, and I can't check, but it sounds like an animation variable issue.

I see you are using P3D, I have the JAI P-3C Orion (FSX) installed in FSX and I'm not seeing the issue. Sorry, wish I could be more help.

Sounds like something that needs to be fixed by the ones who originally converted the plane.

Well, this is the only converted P-3 there is. :(

If I am correct then yes.
What you haven't said though is whether it is all models, just one, or even just one base affected.

In effect, you have to identify how narrow or wide the problem is. You can't expect someone to start trying to fix everything when not everything may not be broken. This is especially true when only one person has reported an issue, as far as I know.

Once specific facts are known then it would be a case of a simple check to verify and then approach fixing it.

I went back and looked at the P-3C FSX conversion and there are six different versions of the P-3 included in the conversion package. When I checked the P-3 in FSX, I was checking the MAIW JAI Lockheed P-3C Orion (FSX) version. Within this version I only checked the base model, I didn't check the harpoon model or the no_weapon_pylons model. If you can provide the version of the P-3C is giving you trouble, Aurora, Aries, AEW, LRT Customs, WP-3D Orion, is giving you the issue, and which model within the version you are looking at, I could do some more checking in FSX. if that would be of any help.

Just confirmed in my P3Dv5.3 install and not sure how I've missed it over the years, it's the following:
"no_weapons_pylons"
EP-3
P-3B
P-3_AEW
CP-140
DUSTOFF
ARMY PROPS
NAVY SAR
