RPP_FPGen SUPPORT THREAD
This is RPP_FPGen SUPPORT THREAD.
"RPP_FPGen is MS Excel based FS utility that ... will generate those nasty AI flightplans for you!
This is THE generator, where you can design both military and GA traffic plans but all tedious job is done by the software itself. You just choose a home base, set a destination list and AI aircraft list ... and run macro. You get three txt files, which you manually compile using Lee Swordy’s Traffic Tools (for FS9). Then you get a traffic BGL file, just where you need this.
RPP_FPGen runs on a random probability, taking into account Probability Profiles, defining flight probability for each hour of a day in a week. Almost every decision made is random but your concepts are respected.
RPP_FPGen can generate flightplans for FS2004, as well as for FSX.
Special thanks to Barry Taylor for thorough testing, ideas and a quick guide.
See User's Manual for details.
"
The TOOL is not exactly what MAIW does but I hope it is connected to that enough

openoffice
great tool, thanks for it;
what about an openoffice version, as OO doesnot like excel macros?

Re: openoffice
I'm sorry, OpenOffice Calc is not compatible with MS Office Visual Basic for Applications. It has some its own macro possibilities, but VBA wins here ...muenier wrote:great tool, thanks for it;

I know that standalone version would fit best but decided on Excel, as this makes all editing and database functionality in a pack, it means the soft could have been developed reasonably fast.
I hope it's possible to get a copy of MS Excell for a really low price now (second-hand one, eBay something?), it shouldn't be the last version as well (I've made this on Excel XP I think).
Great! This is exactly what the tool was invented forFord Friendly wrote:...I have already used it to populate three previously empty bases since last night...

Rip, what can I say? This is the dream tool I have been waiting for, thank you very much for developing this, and thanks to Barry for those tutorials; now I can really get on with those retro plans I have been waiting to do for sooooo long......I am really lazy when it comes to writing out plans, and some of the tools that are already out there, whilst excellent for some people, just don't match up to my specs - this does and more so.
Thank you
Daryl

thanks for response; I moved the file to another computer with excel; great tool again thanks
Hmm... I've not encountered that. My understanding is anything with TOUR will have the same basic flightplan(varying times and days but visiting the same bases in the same order) but RAND should definitely vary up the locations. Did you run it a few times to see if changes?MACC wrote:I used a mixture of STAR/RAND/TOUR
You might have to wait for Rip to chime in.

Ops, I've just stepped here now.
I'm glad that everything works now.
Looks like even v.1.0 is almost error free.
I spotted by myself that incidentally it's possible to get FPs starting from day 6 and then not only finishing at day 0 but also
start again at 0. It makes that this aircraft will not show up.
This happens so rare (I use this for ~static planes) and that running F8 again makes another FP correct, so I do not try to mess with this code if nothing more serious happens.

Re: openoffice
That would have been a nice option, but I bit the bullet and bought a copy of Excel.muenier wrote:great tool, thanks for it;

I must say the package takes a bit of getting used to but once you get the hang of it it works very well. I don't know if it's possible but it would be great if, instead of having to copy and paste airport locations, one could just insert the ICAO code.
Thanks to all concerned for a very useful utility.
