Edit Voicepack help

Post by MIKE JG »

I am trying to alter the default FS9 ATC phrase, "taxi into position and hold" so that is conforms with the current USA FAA phrase which is the same as the ICAO phrase, "line up and wait".

I think there is a way to do this with EVP but for the life of me, I can't figure it out.

Does anyone know how to do this??

Click file, update voicepack. In the grey box that pops up, at the top is Phraseology with a tick box and a drop down box to change to ICAO or FAA Phraseology. Then click OK.

I am thinking Mike wants to keep FAA phraseology going in his sim but wants to update that one saying.

Mike try this:

In EVP, go to "Standard Modifications" -> "Phraseology". Normally in your setup, "FAA" will have its box ticked and "ICAO" not, right?

Now go into "ICAO" and tick the box "AC_TWR_POSITION_AND_HOLD". Only that box.

Save and do a "Update Voicepack".

Greg, we're getting closer. The tower still says, "taxi into position and hold" but the response from the aircraft or AI is now the proper, "line up and wait". We just need to figure out how to replace that default FS9 FAA phrase.

Okay in that case tick both "AC_TWR_POSITION_AND_HOLD" and "TWR_AC_POSITION_AND_HOLD"

Glad it worked my friend. This way is a lot easier than having to figure out what phrase it is and creating a custom voicepack

There's a massive airshow at EBFN Koksijde in July. We even snared the USAF Thunderbirds again who haven't been in Belgium in 15 years I think and convinced them to actually fly from Koksijde instead of the SHAPE base at Chièvres. I'm really looking forward to that. Also trying to put a formation of Spitfires and F-16's together, the Spit being our first fighter after we split from the RAF and the F-16 being our current fighter.

I didn't know the Stampes made it as far as Canada. :D I've never been in one myself. One day.

Yep , a few made it here to Canada .Guy imported them from France, if I remember rightly ,and at least one was rebuilt and owned here in Montreal. I believe it's still flying :D :D
In this class of A/C #1 Bucker Jungmeister ( never flew one ,but I hear it was fanfriggintastic ! ) ,# 2 = Bucker Jungmann ,#3 Tigermoth shared with the Stampe .
Airshow sounds fantastic ! Any idea of the dates ?

Hey Greg,

Sorry to jump in.

Got a couple of spotter mates who might be interested.

As and when you have details (or a website) can you PM them to me please?

Greg, Can't do it, I'm already booked for Salmon fishing on the Petite Cascapedia for that week .
CAF has announced that the Maple Flag 2011 edition will include this !!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
•Canada: two squadrons of CF-18s
•French Air Force: Mirage 2000D, Mirage 2000-5, Mirage 2000N and Rafale aircraft
•Singapore: F-16 Vipers
•A United States Air Force aggressor squadron that will simulate the “enemy” force: F-16 Vipers
Many nations, including France and Brazil, will be bringing transport aircraft. The French and U.S. Navy will be bringing air command and control assets. Conversations are also taking place with the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps about the possibility of some of their aircraft participating in the exercise.

What is weird is that when I checked both those options were already checked. I have never changed mine, so I wonder why my settings were different to Mike's.

When you do "Update Voicepack", do you select ICAO phraseology?
