Eurofighter FSX canopy - Yippie-Ya-Yeah

Post by gsnde »

It always grieved me that the Eurofighter in FSX had that ugly opaque canopy. After I fixed the Tornado and Mirage I really wanted to cure this aircraft as well - but I never succeeded in finding the relevant part in the texture. Finally I gave up, because I misunderstood Nick and came to believe that only changing the model would get the Typhoon a glassy canopy (like my fix of Rysiek's A-10).

Not so Gavin Cole... :D

These days he contacted me and showed me where the relevant texture part is hiding. As a result the Eurofighter can finally join the MAIW FSX Aircraft Club.

Gavin converted the RAF, Italian and Spanish Typhoons, while I did the German textures. You can find them all at the usual place at The Owl's Nest.

Applause for Gavin for discovering the fix. :smt006
And a great "thank you" to Andy Nott for permitting me the distribution of the converted textures . :smt023
Cheers,
Martin

Barry,

I am way behind with the release of my cockpit fixes. The good thing is that they are done. The bad thing is that I am not a single step further than described here.

I will add two other small features to AIAE and then I will let it rest for some time, because I feel a pause is needed. I will then complete the release of the outstanding canopy fixes.
Cheers,
Martin

I know this is a really old thread, but is there a fix for Nick Black's F-14's?

You have missed to copy one canopy texture into the main FS texture folder. The F-14 needs no fix.
Cheers,
Martin
