Regards Paul Day.
I just noticed this too also on the C130H-30. textures for the folder texture.XV209 ARE:
c130h-30.bmp
c130h_l.bmp
prop-hs.bmp
same with the other texture folders. can I swap in any file named c130h-30_l.bmp or are they
specific to each individual texture file ??

Would this cause a CTD ??

Have you checked that they are all dxt3 files? If they're not then that will cause a ctd

Read somewhere, a while back, that it was a special paint designed to deal with additional wear & tear they were getting from the conditions in Afghanistan; needless to say I can't find the magazine I read it in, or corroboration on the interwebz, but it makes sense if you look at which areas are painted. But hey, as ever, I could be wrong!!

Thanks for these Dale, a very timely release as I'm in the middle of a big reinstall. Superb work, as ever.
Found some more info. The patches are a neoprene protective coating to help prevent damage when operating on rough gravel strips.

HI PeteB
The l.BMP,s are not specific to each airframe, so as long as all the three BMP,s are all for the same model, no problems. At least I have no CTD,s.

Fixed it

After working at it all evening I have finally got the damn things to show up correctly. Still not
sure quite what was causing the CTD but I think it may have been a corrupt ".air file". I finished
up replacing all the air files with ones that came with MAIW C130 releases and that seemed to
cure it.

I also removed several lines from the Aircraft.cfg files [fltsim.xx] section:

kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=
atc_flight_number=
atc_heavy=0
atc_id_color=0000000000
visual_damage=0

But I don't think that was causing the CTD.

Right time for bed :D

Check parking codes on the aircraft cfg file, they should not be more than 4 characters.
It has happened before on the JBAI VC-10 and RATS IL-76.

I noticed the C-130J's are showing 20SQ 30SQ with no "," between entries.

Do I need to add this line to all my HTAI C130's ??

I have them in, most of the full MAIW packages, at least post WOAI, will already have them. User preference but I think they look better on both models.

Well, you don't HAVE to, but it means that once the props hit full throttle, they'll continue to spin instead of just freezing in place.

Or at least that's my understanding of it.

Absolutely bang on. It doesnt take that long to do actually. This works with all the HTAI models, C160 etc.

Gawd more fiddling with Aircraft.cfg files. Have just finished removing all the unnecessary crud from the HTAI C130'S. Stripping out all the comments from an aircraft.cfg file takes ages but I been doing it for a while now. not sure if it improves performance, but if its not there it can't cause probs.

Next the f16's

Oh well keeps me out of mischief

If I remember correctly they were all in the ukmilai package by Jim Witherley some years ago, and I think it was one of the files lost in the avsim hack, as I just did a search for it and could not find it.

It may be that some file hoarder has it on their HD somewhere.

For those that like to know such things the RAF fleet was going to standardise on the C4s, the C-130J-30, but they lost one in the desert (ZH873) so they are going to keep one of the C5s , C-130J, to maintain a fleet of 14.

I do not know which C5 they are planning on keeping.

As a side note one of the C5s is going to the USMC to replace the Blue Angels KC-130T.
