Work In Progress

Post by jimrodger »

Very new at trying to create airfields.
These are what I am working on at the moment.
They are very much for use as "homes" for AI and are never meant to be of the class of the likes of Stew Pearson or the ACG stuff.

Should I keep going, or am I wasting my time.

Anywhere you can park more of these aircraft that keep appearing has got to be a bonus Jim - keep it going mate, it all looks good and we are always grateful to anyone who picks up the scenery gauntlet :D

Hi Jim.

Like you I had to start somewhere. Always the question. "Is it good enough" It is a real learning curve but just look at it as fun and very enjoyable. As you say there are those guys out there that really produce some fantastic stuff and push the bounderies. I have had some brilliant advice when I became stuck with something. Keep it up. The more scenery out there the better.

Looking good already mate.

As said above the more parking spots the better! :D

Because let's face it; most military airfields in your FS are without an afcad at all
so no planes whatsoever will be seen at a base.....

So in short, I really apprecite your efforts!

Looking forward to your work! :smt023

Thanks very much for the encouragement guys, now to see if it was worth it....

This is my first attempt at a large airfield.
As in the real world the base is very much WIP.

Due to the expansion of Seeb (OOMS) International Airport, the Coalition military were kicked out and this new base was built. The Americans pulled out of the initial (massive) design and due to that the base has taken a lot longer to come into fruition.

The required libraries are:
Osan Lib.bgl
MAIW_ABO.BGL
maiw_aircraft_shelter_library.bgl
MAIW_Nellis_Walls_Library.bgl
Luke Object Library.BGL
lens ez vehicles vol1.bgl
GGSE.BGL
MG_MAN_Trucks.bgl
MTtrees2.bgl
MTtrees5.bgl
Marks_Anim_Escatator_Lib.bgl
MG_MAN_Trucks.bgl

Please be gentle with me if there are any glaring errors, it has been very much a huge learning curve.
OOMN_ADE9_JIM.BGL
OOMN_ADE9_JIM_OBJ.BGL
The frequencies and specifications are as accurate as I can find.

Recompiled MAIW flightplans to replace OOMS with OOMN.
VCPMOD file to add OOMN into database.

Hi Jim, please excuse my ignorance but which of these files do I need to generate "OOMN" to FS9.

You don't need to generate anything, here just add OOMN_ADE9_JIM.bgl and OOMN_ADE9_JIM_OBJ.bgl to a folder that is activated in FS9.
Those are the afcad and scenery files respectively. The files after those are to generate flightplans and a VCP file.
