New Package: Siauliai Air Base

Post by MIKE JG »

Once a Soviet air base, Siauliai officially became the Lithuanian Air Force's major airfield in 1993. As of today, Siauliai hosts a transport squadron equipped with three Alenia C-27s and an L-410 plus a single L-39. The airfield also hosts NATO’s Baltic Air Policing forces. This package by Giacomo Gramazimo, contains all the elements needed to activate this base in FS2004. This also marks our first package for the nation of Lithuania. Download it today!

I am glad we got this airbase, and hopefully it will fill up nicely with Gripens and Mig-29's from Czechoslovakia and Poland. This is the main hub for all the Baltic Air Policing, so it will be interesting to see how it all ends up.

Very nice! Are those MiG-29 shelters new? I can't recall seeing them before and they look pretty darn sweet 8)

Would be pretty easy to adjust other FP's to have the nations that stand BAP duty weekly or a few days of the week. 30 day rotations?

Glad you like it!
It took a bit to finish it but I am quite satisfied about the result!
As for the BAP, if you have MAIW's Polish MiGs package installed you will find four Migs in the shelters in the southern apron. Remember to remove the EYSA afcad provided with it!

I think there are only a couple countries there for NATO, in 2013 it is 1 squadron of Belgian F-16's, Danish Air Force F-16's, and one French Mirage F-1CR squadron. If we want to be picky we need to either make new flight plans, or adjust the ones from previous packages to compensate for the changes like Chris said. I think MAIW only has a couple of Gripens from the Czech package and a couple of Polish Mig-29's there, which would be inaccurate as of January 2013.

Its a little fix, no big deal.
