I don't drink coffee, but process, practice and persistence are key ingredients for me - a bit machine like I know, but I like creativity too.

Now that's one aircraft that would look comical with the wrong rotational axes for the wings. And now you just want to try! :D

And I built an RV-8 a little over ten years ago, but only in Gmax.

Just need a bit of help deciding what to make next.

I've made about half of the 40-or so suggestions in this thread and the remainder are, in my view, of probable limited interest to the community as a whole, or of little interest to me in making them. I wanted to switch back to some USAF or US Navy/USMC aircraft having spent some time on European helicopters and lately the retro Shackleton. It would be good also to try and fill any holes in the present day American inventories.

I would like to make the new T-7A Redhawk, but it is not due to become operational until 2024. I can't find any decent plans either at this time in any case.

I was surprised to see the DC-10A mentioned. I thought that was already covered, but is that for FS9 only? Scramble shows 54 still in use.

I could make the AC-130W Stinger II, but it isn't very different to the C-130 gunships I have made already.

On the USAF retro front the T-33A has a high vote count in the Owl's Nest poll and that might be interesting to make if present day options are limited.

What do we need to fill the holes in USAF/USN/USMC AI packages and what is the situation with the KC-10A models specifically please?

John

The AIM KC-10 models are good but it is only for FS9 & there is no permission to convert them either so that will remain that way. The paint kit for that as well was only given to a few select people as well & they were asked not to pass it on.

As I understand the situation with the KC-10/DC-10 is that the models were original done by Charles Dayhuff and release through various titles that he was involved in - EvolveAI/CDAI/AIM.

I don't know what happened but something really, really naffed off Charles and he refused to let people convert or mod his projects. I also believe that he didn't even let people paint his models unless he was fully happy with what they would do.

It sounds like the AC-130W is a time filler/relief or side project rather than a full project and I think is best if it is kept to that pigeon-hole.

You stated the area that you would like to fill in but what kind of aircraft do you fancy doing - jet, prop, helo?

I know it stays in the helicopter family, but the UH-1 Huey is missing. And the USAF still uses the UH-1N.

Otherwise, I find the idea of the T-7A to be excellent.

I know it doesn't fit USAF or USN / USMC at all, but there is a big lack on the Chinese air force side. And that could be a plus for the China Sea, Sea of Japan or near Korea scenarios.
Like for example the Pakistani / Chinese JF-17, or the Chinese J-20, J-8, the fabulous J-10, their new transport device copies the C-17, or else, and I know that it is is a big project, but the Su-27/30/35 J-11/15/16 family which although existing by SBAI is quite old. (MKAI did remake a brand new MiG-29).

On the Asian side, there is also the KAI T-50 Golden Eagle.

For me, the Chinese side seems a good hole to fill. But this is obviously my wish. Not would be a top for AI traffic on the side of Australia, Guam, Japan, Korea, against the F-18E / F and F-15, and F-22 and F-35.

But whatever your decision, I know that you will make us one or more splendid models which will delight many people and me the first. Thanks to you John.

KC-10 sounds good to me. But I’m sure whatever you decide it will find it’s way onto my PC.

The Shackleton looks very nice !

:D :D

Just throwing an idea out there since I saw "retro" and USN / USMC mentioned... I don't see any A-6s or EA-6s out there.... But KC-10, T-7, T-33 and the Chinese fighters sound cool too..
