A nice to have would be proper AI sounds, I got the jets working better in FSX but never had that "thump" for example on the NBAI CH-47 or now the JY 2 blade Cobra.

I'm not actually enhancing the "Z" specifically, but I am enhancing the packages a tad.

Alas, I'm not a sound engineer unfortunately Chris, so I can't produce a realistic sound file. However if you can find a third party file, I can create an empty soundai folder in the FSX/P3D zip and direct users to it.

John,
I looked at that years ago on helos specifically after I did use the freeware 3rd party sounds on the F-15 and others after searching around for AI airline sound. I tried to use the "soundai" folder from the stock FSX B206, but my helos still had the King Air sound. It's something I can work on later, just happy to see these Snakes in sim.

Just a heads up. In the P3D Republic of Korea version texture 22722 has the files named JYAI_AH-1_Cobra_t - Copy and JYAI_Rotors_2_blade_AH1S -Copy. It causes the helicopter to show up black in the sim. delete the copy part and it will be good.

I must admit that I would like to know the name of the base and the unit if anybody knows them.

Hi.

ROKAF, ARMY, NAVY, MARINE...ETC...

There will be many Plans and Scenery in the future.

Republic of Korea is a truce country.

Much military information is a security issue.

Detailed military information, except for the Internet (wiki...etc) and widely known content, is a security issue.

Thus, virtual or large portions will be produced on a limited basis.

I hope you understand a lot.

Thank you.

I understand, as everybody will. I do not want restricted information.
I would be happy if somebody could point me to an internet source for the info. Scramble covers the ROKAF very well but doesn't do the ROKA, yet.

Its the same in FSX so I have amended. Strangely enough it was the first to take off so I followed 22722 and noted no textures and rotor was a spinning square!

Thanks for that, John but the one closest on that list closed in 2005. I think that maybe they are a touch behind.

I'm pleased to say that the USMC AH-1Z Vipers are complete and have been sent for inclusion in the Download Hangar.

Image

60 examples are in the package for HMLA-169, HMLA-267, HMLA-369, HMLA-469 and HMLAT-303, all operating in the Camp Pendleton and Futenma scenery updated by Brent and highlighted in the second half of this post.

That might however have left a bit of a hole, but for the little enhancement I mentioned in an earlier post.

Apart from the Vipers, V-22 Ospreys and a small, but diminishing number of AH-1W’s (not modelled), there is one more helicopter type present at Pendleton in greater numbers than any other. That’s the UH-1Y Venom, or “Super Huey”. These aircraft are operated by the same HMLA squadrons that are Viper-equipped and are often seen in the air together:

Image

So, yes, I’ve produced 72 examples of the UH-1Y Venom, in 6 HMLA squadrons to go with the Vipers. There are 3 models with different door states - “animated” that close at the hold line, “permanently closed” and “no doors”. Some have crew in the cabin. Here are a few screen shots:

The 72 aircraft, for FS9, FSX and P3Dv4 are all complete and they too have been sent for inclusion in the Download Hangar.

Image

To provide a home to all these new helicopters, Brent has also completed and sent his updated sceneries of Camp Pendleton California and Futenma Japan, plus flight plans, to the Download Hangar. Camp Pendleton has become a very busy airfield with the already resident V-22 Ospreys. Brent however has added percentage levels to the flight plans so users can adjust the density as necessary. This is Pendleton at a 50% traffic level:

Image

Futenma is a little more sane. The traffic density in this shot is at 100%:

Image

Both Camp Pendleton and Futenma also feature USMC V-22 Ospreys.

Image

Although the V-22’s function in FSX (as in the above screen shot), because they are in FS9 code, they are not frame-rate efficient. They don’t work at all in P3Dv4 of course. I’m having some success in doing something about that and I’ll report back in the Osprey topic shortly.

The new uploads probably won’t be available until sometime over the weekend because our librarian is away for a few days. Just be patient and let real life have its priority.

Well I was fooled into believing the Cobras were it, amazing work and we have the 1st AI Huey in now, although a long way from the original Bell HU-1. The current HMLA structure is the same from the UH-1N/AH-1W days.

The front page briefing is already written Andy and sent to Greg. It outlines what we've done with all the Venoms, Vipers and Cobras, the scenery that goes with them and summarises the links to all the downloads.
